There are some repeated qualities described in Bigfoot that have led me come to the conclusion they are hybrids. There are interesting variations in descriptions of them, enough to make me wonder about what happens when two divergent beings within a species mate and what the results can be in the form of "defects," "exaggerated features," to "unusual size." It would appear that hybridization is a logical conclusion when you consider the following -

I put together this short video summarizing just some of the highlights of running this special blog. Here is Ghost Hunting Theories - in the Field!
As a researcher, I'm only as meticulous as my research but I must be balanced by my investigations. Going out in the field and experiencing it an action changes the perspective greatly.
And it's not just ghosts I'm chasing. I chase horror, abandoned sites, lectures, Bigfoot, UFOs, publishing, documenting, recovering, exploring, and more.
GHT in the field - expect even more this coming year!

I grew up with a father who was Norwegian. In fact, his father changed their last name in 1928 after coming to America so that they would have an American name, thus I am Day and not Thorvaldsen. He was determined we had smorgasbord on Christmas Eve, opening the gifts that night. The only gifts on Christmas morn were Santa's gifts unwrapped. I love the look, feel and traditions of Scandinavian Christmas. Some of my grandmother's Swedish rituals and items were added to the mix. Let's have a look -

In 2014, a strange enormous hole developed in the permafrost in Siberia. Later, more of these huge holes were found.

I'm not sure how Haunted Shirley feels about our move, but I was on the floor, tightening some screws on some drawers. I was 18 inches from her cart. She was on the cart, about 6 inches from the edge. While I'm leaning over on the floor working on this drawer, not touching her area at all, she came down on my head, having traveled about 2' total. Her porcelain head clanked my skull. Ow!

New episodes of MST3K on Netflix streaming beginning on Thanksgiving - tomorrow!
Season 12 will begin tomorrow and the five major characters wil return to give us the most hilarious commentary on some of the goofiest films to come along.
Thanksgiving just got better!
This extraordinary story about a most unusual collection of mummies including giant ones and rather alien-looking ones is not a story from the 1800s or early 1900s. This is from the 2000s. And it will be told by the person who took the photographs, a researcher I highly respect. Be prepared to be amazed.

Caves are more than the sites of mines and ancient hieroglyphs, the burial places of giants, and homes for bats. They can also be haunted. And, why not? In desperate times, caves were utilized for sanctuary and sometimes standoffs and, given the geology, they seem like ideal vessels in a feng shui sort of way, to retain and hold a kind of amplified haunting that is held captive in a cul-du-sac formation. I am utterly fascinated with the haunted cave phenomena. I cannot think of a better spirit vessel.
Let's have a look at some more infamous haunted caves....

The openings to the center of earth or hollow earth have been explored by man since the prehistoric times, no doubt. The idea of finding another world underground is an attractive concept, a very romantic notion about our amazing planet. Let's have a look at what some folks believe to be the entrances to earth's interior -

Admittedly, "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (the 1959 version based on the Jules Verne novel), is one of my favorite movies of all time. As a kid, I could watch it every time it came on and now I own it on disk, so I can see it endlessly!

From the white face to the maniacal laughter and drawn on tears, clowns have always had an unsettling reaction to children and adults alike. I don't know if we ever get over that discomfort as we grow older. From the bright hair, colorful billowing clothing and big shoes to the painted on smile, we inherently know something is amiss.

I admit, I adore the concept of Krampus and the legendary figure. I was stoked to hear about the release of "Krampus Origins." I was even more pleased to be asked to attend the cast and crew viewing at Sun Studios of Arizona.

Cemeteries are thoughtful, respectful, and solemn memorials to all the lovely lives that have inhabited this planet at various points in time. There is no better time to photograph such a quiet and still location as the cold and barren wintertime. Here's some tips -

The 70s and 80s were the most amazing decades for horror movies. The scream became the primary focus of these terrifying films and the female leads put in the position to scream did a damn fine job. Let's look at some familiar actresses and their work in those decades.

There are some horror film actors who stand out as our favorites. Whereas the female scream queens were the survivors, the scream kings were often the ones who inspired screams. Let's take a look at some of these fine actors I think have been the very best at eliciting screams from us fans.

This "Ozenkadnook Tiger" photo was taken in 1964 by Rilla Martin in Southern Australia. She reported the snout to be pig-like and it was about the size of a labrador. Although it has the stripes of the extinct thylacine "Tasmanian Tiger," the features and proportions seem different. In fact, it is compared to the very-long extinct Marsupial lion.

Bear dog: A carnivorous creature that existed millions of years ago and thought to be extinct. There are stories of man's encounters with these and for a creature thought to have gone extinct before we were on the continent of the Americas, that is very interesting. Do they still exist? Some witnesses think so.
