35 mm orb??

As a followup on the earlier post today about digital cameras and orbs, I did want to share this one. It's a 35mm shot with no flash in a cemetery. See to the far left an orb? I was completely alone in the cemetery when I took this. It was no balloon and nothing in the trees. I studied the area carefully as I took shots because when I used to use 35mm, I needed to recall if anything was in the field of vision when taking the pic. Still can't explain it, but I keep it as a reminder that you just never know what the hell you'll get. I've never seen a 35mm get an orb and especially in daytime with no flash, but hey, it's pretty cool.

  1. Wind shifting the trees to expose the backdrop? Maybe a refection of natural light off something in the branches you didn't catch? Hmm...don't know.

  2. Yeah, I went back and investigated. It's a huge dense "orchard" of cypress trees. Nothing behind it but green and more green, very thick. No buildings. Nothing. Hmm.. Still make me scratch my head. I looked at the negative and it was on there too, so not a film processing issue. I love the open-endedness of ghost hunting. You never really get an absolute answer. Kind of like when you question the minister about why men have milk ducts and start out as women in the womb until the right hormone makes their gonads externalize and they grow a penis. So, that "woman from Adam's rib" stuff- total misogynist bullshit. Yeah, I did get kicked permanently out of Sunday School for that observation. The same thing happens to me in the ghost hunting world because, even though J&G like to drill it into Tango and Steve's heads, there are no freaking absolutes about ghost shit. They're making it up as they go along and touting it as actual fact. Man, I want a piece of that action. They're being cloned and franchised by groups all over the US (I am now stepping down from my soap box, but I will be back later for an encore, no doubt).

  4. Yeah, well, if you give a man hormones, he can actually produce milk. Good to know, huh? Next time you're mixing some Kahlua with cream at a party, you could be the talk of the evening.

  5. I've gotten orbs on a digital 35mm without flash. I believe it is very possible. Just my two cents!

  6. That is unusual. I have to admit to using 35mm the first few years I hunted and taking tons and tons of shots and never once getting and orb. I'm curious if it has to do with light getting in the lens just the right way or what. I hardly think it's supernatural, but definitely rare.

  7. If you look at my last Lunatic Asylum pics, there are quite a few of the "transparent" orbs and also a few of the bright blue ones. The ones I like the most are the two bright blue ones in the top of an old oak tree. It was taken with a point and click digital camera. It was up very high in the tree and I was just trying to get a picture of the actual tree because it was so massive, so I wasn't right up on it. Who knows. It gives me something to dream about and look forward to finding an explanation one day!

  8. That is freaky. Hopefully it's not the orb from Phantasm 2. Those things scared the crap out of me.
