It's that time again--from now until the last person passes out, we'll hang out here and comment back and forth. Jump in and join us at any time. The more the merrier. You can tell us what you're up to, talk about "Ghost Adventures," flirt, complain or anything else. It's totally casual and totally ridiculous.
Hey ya'all! I'm on for the evening.
ReplyDeleteHey kiddo. Got some great reactions from your mask photo and my short fiction.
ReplyDeleteWould rather IM than do this though.
Yeah, well, it's just a hangout on a Friday night. I usually pick the brains of the folks back east as they see GA before it's shown out west. That mask should scare anyone. Seriously--wear it on Halloween to hand out candy and you'll totally freak the kiddies and parents both.
ReplyDeleteIf I do it, I'll let you know how it goes.

ReplyDeleteAwesome.
Evening, Foolish Mortals!
ReplyDeleteHow's my favorite party man?
ReplyDeleteDoing GREAT!!! My favorite holiday, and that day of days, is just within my grasp! I cannot wait! How are your Haunting festivities going Autumn?

ReplyDeleteIt's been crazy here as far as lots of activity and I haven't done one damn Halloween thing except get my stuff set up to scare the kids on Halloween. It seems like I had a zillion things come up all at once to take my attention away-good things, but still, I sure wish I could get dressed up and go to a party. I will have to plan it for next year. This year was just plain ole crazy. I hope you're going to take pics of your setup and put it on your blog.
Yeah, last year, I fell completely off the ball and didn't get ANY pics. I'm determined to got some this year. Planning on creating on slideshow/video for the haunt after Halloween. Keep yours peeled (not literally)!

ReplyDeleteI can't wait! I love your blog. You are really as much of a kid about Halloween as I am. I wish I could have enjoyed it more this year but with the divorce and the move and the book at the publishers, I've been rather distracted including the zillion other things involved in finalizing the divorce, working full time, running a blog, writing another book, chores, chores, chores.. Well, I have a whole year to plan the ultimate Halloween. I might very well be moving next summer to Portland Oregon, so it'll be like the first real Halloween since I was a teen and lived back east. AZ isn't bad with Halloween but it just doesn't feel like it.
There's a very special home haunt up there near Portland, I'll have to e-mail you 'bout after Halloween. I'll say one thing - they KNOW how make some convincing ghost illusions.

ReplyDeleteI am so stoked! I want to walk in woods in autumn (an autumn forest!) and feel cool air and drink hot cocoa and make chili and write horror stories on my laptop in the woods. Ah... I do look forward to it. So, have you and your girl crafty companion been working on ideas for next Halloween already?
Haven't gotten a chance. I've got some neat ideas though, a little more artistic than in past years. I'll give you the name - October Hollow.

ReplyDeleteThat is wicked! When I was growing up at Aspen Grove, the estate was surrounded by woods and there was this tumbling creek going through our yard that fed into the woods. It was a little tributary of the Potomac called Pohick Creek. When I was a kid I thought it was derogatory, that perhaps at one time the creek wen through a "poor hick" neighborhood. haha. Well, I'd go deep into these dark woods filled with spongy moss and lichens and berry brambles and I had some special places I liked to go. One was called Witch's Hollow. It was extremely dark there and there was a little waterfall and slate shelving making a little cliff that made it even darker. The moss was super spongy and the trees had so many lichens they looked like they were diseased. It was very chilly and the water was always a dark caramel color and slimy on the bottom. I thought it was positively haunted. One tree even looked like a hunched over witch (hence the name). That's what I picture when you say that.
Well, it probably won't have many trees (new location being my dad's house) but expect a pauper's graveyard, Grim Reaper, scarecrows, and possible a short walk-thru to get to the candy!
ReplyDeleteThat's my dream! You know, if I win the Kreepy Krawlys contest (I'm one of the 13 finalists), I will be going to Ohio next October to go through the haunted attraction where a life-sized me will be the first victim. Perhaps we'll have to go through the haunted attraction and see your haunt set up. One can dream.
ReplyDeleteThat would be pure awesomeness! I'll have to look into this attraction when it opens. Sounds too awesome. Do you know what the theme is?
ReplyDeleteHN;
ReplyDeleteGo to www.kreepykrawlys.com and it'll tell you about the contest and read the prizes--first prize is to die for! If I won, they'd have a special effects guy make a mold of my face and a life-sized me to be the first victim. The essay I wrote would be the basis for the steampunk turn-of-the-century brain stealing creepy guy named Edgar Krawly. It would be a haunted attraction with a 5-year run and I'd get 5% of the profits. Lots of cool stuff. Fingers crossed!
Hey lady! Just watching GAC and thought of you, being that they're so close to your neck of the woods! ;) Hope all is well...and Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteWell, Autumn, I must take leave of your blog. And so, until we chat again, have a Haunted Hallowe'en! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
ReplyDeleteHN;
ReplyDeleteHave a great one, buddy!
Michelle;
Hope all is well in our neck of the woods, sweetie. Hope the bun in the oven is ripening happily. I am happily ready for Halloween.
Thank you! The bun is still baking on slow roast! She's definitely growing! We're going to a Halloween party tomorrow evening and I'm dressing as a pregnant black cat...you'll have to tune in for pictures! :) I'm using baby bottles nipples on my baby bump! hahaha Take care!
ReplyDeleteThat is tooooo cute! Have a blast, sweetie.
ReplyDeletePassed out yet
ReplyDeleteHell no! The show hasn't started here yet, though I admit to downing 2 beers so far. I better stop. The show will get me super buzzed. How's the weather in TX?
ReplyDeleteThe weather was great today: morning low was 42 with a high of 72. Tomorrow is to be the same. Unfortunately warming back up for Halloween to the high 80’s. That’s Texas our weather is screwed.
ReplyDeleteBetter than here! It's like 80s/60s. Hardly Halloween weather. I bet it's beautiful outside at night, huh? God, I miss the outdoors. My apartment faces the desert, but I'm a gal who grew up with lots of acreage, barns, stables, woods,creeks, orchards. I despise the suburbs. You are lucky boy!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy where I live. Although I removed a copperhead snake (poisonous) from this world two days ago and last night my cat brought a dead baby one on the poach.
ReplyDeleteI can relate. I live with rattlers. Of course, I grew up with water mocassins. Guess there's no ideal situation, but still, I'd take wide open spaces and nature to concrete jungles. Made any good microwave pizza lately, buddy?
ReplyDeleteTuesday night. Tonight I made deer stew with cornbread. I wrapped up the day’s work around 2 today went to town to pay a bill and picked up cattle feed. I got back around 3:30 and started the stew.
ReplyDeleteThe usual ingredients? potatoes, onions, carrots, celery, etc? Sounds good. You know, I hate to admit it, but I've never tasted deer. My sister's husband is a hunter in WV and they eat catfish and deer almost exclusively. I've always wondered what it's like. Compare it to beef, what's it like? I'm a most excellent cook. I'm sure I'd find just the right way to showcase it.
ReplyDeleteSimilar to beef, but at same time it’s all together different. Deer is very lean making it harder to prepare, but very tasty. I prefer hamburger meat from deer to beef. Also I prefer making beef stroganoff with thin slices of deer meat. Cooks super fast and easy. There are a few other recipes I like deer more such stews, but when it comes to steaks nothing tops beef.
ReplyDeleteI know it sounds childish, but because my ex had high cholesterol, I had adjusted my gourmet cooking to be only fish and chicken and turkey and I have very low cholesterol (140) and so I can eat all the beef and pork I want without worrying about cholesterol. Now that the divorce is nearly final, I think I might celebrate with a big fat steak. Oh, God, that sounds good! I feel like a rebellious teenager. Thanks for the idea. I think that'll be my gift to myself. I do miss beef. I grew up on beef and seafood. My mom wouldn't make chicken. She was from the depression era and thought it was poor people's food. I've eaten so much chicken in the past 26 years, I think I should peck at the ground and moult.
ReplyDeleteI feel so sorry for you. If I had to make a sacrifice to eat that much chicken, I would have puked often. I dislike chicken. I enjoy turkey, but no chicken. You may qualify for a saint a review from the church may be needed. Or not. Must turn in for the night early start tomorrow.
