This Week in Horror Movies and Paranormal TV--Thanks SyFy!!

WAHOO--PARANORMAL TV IS BACK AND INTERESTING!!!

(*asterisk means I’m watching it)

MONDAY:
*SyFy:Jeepers Creepers” (movie), “Final Destination 2” (movie)

TUESDAY:
Nope

WEDNESDAY
*SyFy:Ghost Hunters International” starts again and I’m going to say that I actually like this better than the original GH. I love the places they go, I think Robb is very sincere and ha no ego issues and, even though the bloody team is constantly rotating its cast; some of the regulars have good attitudes and personalities.
GREEN PLANET CHANNEL: "The Haunting of Beekman Farm" on "The Fabulous Beekman Boys" show. Check out this awesome teaser...

THURSDAY:
*SyFy:Mary Knows Best,” a reality show about a wife/mother who is a psychic and her daily hectic life being a sensitive among family members. (I didn’t know my life could be interesting enough to be on TV, hmm…) I’ll give it a try, but I’ll tell you right now that as a southern gal, that grating NY dialect is likely to make me turn the channel fast. It’s like nails on a freaking chalkboard!
****”Fact or Faked” (you will be quizzed on whether you watched this—so be ready!) I am excited about this show—can you tell? I just want smart TV; no bimbos, no guys with baggy pants trying to date a woman with silicone, no rich whiny crying brat girls… I just want my geek TV - puh-lease…

In honor of how good a night it is on SyFy on Thursdays, I won’t even look at the other channel’s offerings.

FRIDAY:
TRAVEL CHANNEL:Ghost Adventures” (repeat), “Ghost Stories” (a few episodes)

When the much-anticipated "Fact or Faked" begins on Thursday, I will be able to put a face and voice to Ben Hansen, my new TV personality crush. (Okay, Josh Gates, don’t worry, there’s plenty of my eyelash fluttering to go around). Cuteness aside, this guy is smart, has just the right background to be a regular X-Files type of dude. The inner geek in me is anxious to see how his mind works, where he makes correlations, what threads of truth and deceit he can spin from the tales and the evidence. He’s been kind enough to read a couple of my posts and leave highly intelligent and fun remarks. I haven’t been this excited about a paranormal show starting since “Ghost Hunters” long ago when I was thrilled someone was doing a show on us unsung heroes poking around the dusty places in search of some kind of truth. I’m pleased with the premise of this show and whether they can make the concept of debunking evidence as a long-running show without eventually losing enthusiasm. You see, the majority of their watchers are believers and it will be a very tightrope they will be walking to not turn us off by debunking everything. Oh, and men, don’t worry, the beautiful Jael from “Destination Truth” is on the show, as well. (wink)

This morning I will be on a conference call with some cast and crew of the show and I hope to be able to tell you some fun and interesting insider things about just what goes into making this new and interesting show, so be watching later on for a post, no doubt.

  1. I'm going to have to remember to set my DVR for Fact or Faked since Jael is on it!

  3. Wahoo! Finally a week of horror to watch. I have GHI and ForF'd ready to record just in case I miss the first run. I will probably do a recap for GHI. I haven't done one of those since April. I will also record the Beekmans, that looks good too.

  4. Julie;
It's nice during our forced hibernation in AZ summers that we can have something to curl up and watch that might produce goosebumps.
