Book Review & Giveaway!

(Picture done of the book as I read it in the dark on the sofa with a book light. I did this because the sofa goes to the floor and nothing can hide beneath it - bwa ha ha)

This book was sent to me by the innovative publishing company, The Career Press, Inc.

"There's Something Under the Bed!" by Ursula Bielski is a book about children's experiences with the paranormal. When I heard this, my ears perked up. Not many kids had the amount of encounters I did with the paranormal and it certainly helped to form me into the person I am today. For some, it haunts them long after, others are ashamed, some let it go and refuse to look at it again. For me, it was just a fact of life like the sun coming up and rain coming down, or in other words "ghosts happen."

This book is laid out nicely and a really good read. The subjects are exciting from talking to animals to reincarnation to poltergeists, angels and demons. Children have extraordinary talents and the psychic and sensitive ones show up young. We seem to out grow them for the most part, though some of us with stronger psychic skills manage to keep those keen senses.

This book is a real keeper for adults who might have had experiences as a child they couldn't explain and those parents who have kids that tell them amazing stories or have extraordinary experiences. I wish this had been around when I was a kid and my mom thought my psychometry ability was an "adorably imaginative mind."

  4. Ok Autumn, You know I'm simply entering this because your CREEPY damn doll is doing the drawing! And, well, it does look like an awesome book! LOL If it ever cools down, down south, I'm itching to do some ghost hunting around the state. Never really have done it before but have always been interested...maybe I'll find more shadow animals!

  5. Tara-Dear;
    I tell you what, I'm in AZ and it NEVER cools down. I just wait until the rattlers are gone. I am doing some filming on Wednesday with another blogger how is co-writing the Hug-A-Blogger book with me, Julie from Above-The-Norm. We should have a funny video up here and on the HaB site too and it will be amusing. You will like when Dale draws names. He can be a helpful booger. If you ever want to see some of his vids--go to YouTube and type in "psychic62" and you'll see my films. Good luck on the contest!

    Reading on the sofa because it goes to the floor! HA!
    Now you know how I feel after reading YOUR stories! Like I'm really supposed to go to sleep afterwards?
    Oh, yes- PLEASE enter me in that giveaway! I would love to get that book so I could give it to my niece Grace. When she was a little girl, me and my sister would watch her pacing and talking...to what we never knew. She could look down and pull out a four-leaf clover at will! She's 21 now and is the creative consultant for a short film about Lucid Dreams....I tell ya, the girl has been here before! She would love that book!

  7. Cindi;
    That's so cool! I'm in a book about lucid dreaming "Control Your Dreams." How weird. She sounds like an interesting young woman. You know, when you said that about my stories, I thought to myself "when was the last time I put a short story on here?" So, I think I'll do that. I have a nasty zombie one that should make everyone cringe....

    Yeah, South Carolina stays hotter than hell longer than I'd like, but we do have seasons, even though sometimes they are short. This has been an unusually LONG HOT summer that began back at the end of May beginning of June. Miserable. I cannot wait for the Fall and my favorite season WINTER!

  15. Tara-Dear;
    I'm with you on the south--I was born and raised in VA and moved to AZ and lived in CA too, always south of the Mason Dixon. I love the people and the casual lifestyle, but I sure would like to spend the rest of my days with the Yankees and enjoy real autumns.
