Vintage Halloween Photos
I don't need to say a thing, I'll let these pictures say it all because they are very very creeper, scarier than present-day costumes. We could learn something from this homemade-rigged, and bizarre costuming -

Paranormal Memes
I just made these 5 memes - I'm putting a meme button at the top of the blog so I can start storing these babies -
Dale the Doll: I Will Prevail
The human may have me in these embarrassing "My First Halloween" onsies, but I tell you, she hasn't got a chance. I have a master plan to turn her back into her zombie self -
Why? You may ask. Well, zombies are controllable and humans are not, especially this wacky redhead. She's working on a haunted mirror right now for the dining room. She got the first coat of paint on it and plans to make the frame all heavy and ornate gilded gold. Freaking scary! She's insane, I tell you! Besides, she looks a helluva lot better as a zombie, more doll-like.
Hey, and don't any of you tell The Human, or I'll have to come after you!
666 Park Avenue
An ABC show on Sunday nights -
If you could make one wish, what would it be? And what would you do to get it? At 666 Park Avenue, all of your dreams and burning desires can come true: wealth, sex, love, power, even revenge. But just be careful what you wish for, because the price you pay... could be your soul. Welcome to The Drake, the premiere apartment building on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Owned by the mysterious Gavin Doran (Terry O'Quinn - Lost) and his sexy wife Olivia (Vanessa Williams - Desperate Housewives), The Drake is home to dozens of residents who are unaware they're living in the dark embrace of supernatural forces. They think their dreams are all coming true, only to find they've been lured into making, what feels like, a deal with the Devil. When a young Mid-western couple - Jane Van Veen (Rachael Taylor - Charlie's Angels, Grey's Anatomy) and Henry Martin (Dave Annable - Brothers & Sisters) - is hired to manage The Drake, they soon discover that evil, obsession, and manipulation has a home. Allow yourself to be seduced by 666 PARK AVENUE, and unravel the mysteries of this devilish new drama from Alloy Entertainment (Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars) and executive producers David Wilcox (Fringe, Life on Mars), Leslie Morgenstein (Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries) and Gina Girolamo (The Secret Circle, The Lying Game).

Ghost Adventures Drinking Game
Before Zak and the Boyz are on Travel Channel tonight, Zak's new show Paranormal Paparazzi is on. Give a couple episodes tonight a view and see what you think -
Now, on to the drinking game -
Running With the Devil by VanHalen
Zak and the Boyz are headed to Palmer House Hotel in Minnesota where they are facing supposed demonic activity (Zak's fav). It's looking from the hotel's site that this is basically nothing more than a glorified free 1-hour ad for them (they have ghost investigations listed at the bottom of the page below the picture/ad of Zak and the boyz) and a place for Zak to yell at some more walls. My curiosity isn't even piqued at this point. But, I will give you the drinking game rules just in case you decide to watch it:
1. Stay home.
2. Have a sip for every "bro," "dude," "man," every time Zak thinks he was touched by a ghost, and every time Aaron's mouth drops open in horror.
Tonight's drink?
Let's go with pumpkin ale in honor of the time of year and the chilly north country.

Happy Birthday To A Blogger Crush!
Happy birthday to one of my blogger crushes!
From time to time, because of the way a man blogs, I find myself obsessed with him and his mind. Yes, his mind. I'm one of those kinds of gals.
Barry at Gnostalgia and Attention Earthlings blogs has been not only a great supporter of GHT, but a dear and wise friend as well. Today, I'd like to wish him a happy birthday and many more that are even happier!
If you haven't been a follower of his, please jump on-board. His Gnostalgia site not only reviews paranormal and esoteric metaphysical books, but he also loves to knock around the para-shows. His Attention Earthlings site is old-style SciFi fun which is one of my addiction--those campy old SciFi movies!
He's a little bit steampunk, a little bit metaphysical and spiritual, a little bit goofy and adorable, and a great deal big-hearted and supportive. He has been one of my biggest motivators to write and get published because this critical book reviewer thought he saw potential in me that I needed to tap.
Thanks Barry and have a glorious day in your honor-it's long overdue!

Oliver: Humanzee?
Oliver (1958-2012) was a performing retired chimp. When discovered by some, his balding look and upright walking and desire for cigarettes brought up questions of whether he could be part human/part chimp.
(Wikipedia) Oliver was acquired as a young animal (around 2 years old) in 1960 by trainers Frank and Janet Berger. Supposedly, the chimpanzee had been caught in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (then Republic of the Congo). Some physical and behavioral evidence led the Bergers to believe Oliver was a creature other than a chimpanzee, perhaps a human-chimp hybrid: Oliver possessed a flatter face than his fellow chimpanzees; Oliver was habitually bipedal (before being struck with arthritis), never walking on his knuckles like his chimpanzee peers; and Oliver may have preferred human females over chimpanzee females. During a December 16, 2006 Discovery Channel special, Janet Berger herself claimed that Oliver was becoming attracted to her when he reached the age of 16. He mounted her and tried to mate with her. After he tried it several times it became apparent that Oliver was a threat to Janet, and had to be sold.
Genetic testing commenced to put the rumors to rest. He was found to be a common chimp and his characteristics like freckles and walking upright were just variations of that.
Let's just look at the horrifying possibility -

Best and Worst Bigfoot Movies
When I say worst, it's not always just directing, production, storyline and acting. It's also often times that kind of "worst" that is so bad, it's almost good. If you are really into BF-themed movies, then all of these are worth watching, even the bad because they make you wince and then laugh. If you're into MST3000'ing movies, these are worthy ones to play with -
WORST
Assault of the Sasquatch: Here's the description (says it all) - When a merciless bear poacher is caught and arrested deep in the woods of a state park, he and his truck are taken to a neglected precinct in the heart of a dying city. Unbeknownst to the authorities, the impounded truck holds a deadly cargo in the form of the legendary Sasquatch. Now, stuck in an unfamiliar world, the creature will let nothing and no one stop it from coming face-to-face with the unscrupulous man who ruthlessly ripped it from its environment. Taking an inventive and action packed approach, "Sasquatch Assault" breaths new and exciting life into the immortal legend of Bigfoot.
Bigfoot (Syfy): Danny Bonaduce and Barry Williams with a godawful 30-foot tall CGI ape. Syfy all-star original movie - Need I say more?
Legend of Boggy Creek: I debated putting this in the worst column. It is a cult classic, but it's so tediously folksy and boring that it is rather campy and outdated. That being said, it scared the crap out of me as a kid in the theater. I had never heard of Bigfoot until I saw this movie. I later heard about something called the Patterson-Gimlin film that had been out many years earlier, but back in the "olden days," there was no internet or other means to re-watch it unless they decided to play it on TV again which they didn't. I did see it replayed in some Bigfoot documentaries that came out in the 70s after Boggy Creek. It opened a whole new world of wonder for me. They have the full-length for free on YouTube.
Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon: There was a plot? Hmm... well, they describe it as; Surviving the crash was only the beginning. (kind of how I felt watching it).
Little Bigfoot: The Shoemaker kids are enjoying a quiet summer vacation in the country until they discover a friendly Little Bigfoot. Just as a point of reference for how bad - let's just look at the movie's cover -
BEST
Letters From The Big Man: You can purchase it here. This is my favorite BF movie of all time. If you're a nature-lover, have a lot of wonder about the universe, and believe there is more than enough room on the planet for us to live with mysterious beings, then you will enjoy it. The soundtrack is wonderful, the female lead is played brilliantly, and the beauty and wonder of the subject matter come across.
Creature From Black Lake: This 1970s gem is corny and campy at times, but when it gets creepy, it gets really creepy. Two college boys head south in search of the Fouke Monster. They soon realize that they are in over their heads and ill-equipped to deal. You can find this movie on YouTube for free.
Snowbeast: This 1970s movie is a bit slow at times, but it scared the holy crap out of me as a kid and still is a nice tense storytelling with an all-star cast. A ski resort is being stalked by a white Bigfoot who is not of the cuddly variety. Don't be distracted by the John Schneider modern version of this - get the original. HUGE difference. You can find it free on YouTube.
Boggy Creek 2: The Legend Continues: This one is campy horrible, but actually creepy. MST3000 made a fantastic episode of it. Don't buy it - just watch it for free on YouTube. It is a classic in campiness and scary things in the dark themes.
Abominable: What the hell am I doing putting a Syfy BF movie here? Well, Abominable was actually an interesting plot and creepy, although utterly ridiculously inaccurate like most movies about BF. The only "real" BF scenario I've seen is Letters From the Big Man, but if you like to be creeped out, this one of the newer movies is fairly unsettling.
Harry and the Hendersons: This beautiful family classic is actually the most classic BF movie there is. There is not one person who doesn't point to moments in the movie, like Harry eating the corsage or burying the animal trophies in the yard.

The Reptilians Among Us?
Notable Reptilians according to "experts" on the subject: George Bush Sr., George Bush Jr., Richard Cheney, Al Gore, Colin Powell, Queen Elizabeth and all 4 sons including Prince Charles and Prince Andrew. (I would have added Nancy Pelosi and Ann Coulter)
There are people who believe that reptilian aliens are among us, whether they are hiding in caves underground or posing as humans. Others believe that some humans have reptilian DNA in them. Perhaps this concept came from a physician and neuroscientist, Paul MacLean, M.D. comparing parts of the brain to the reptilian brain. It was his conclusion that the "triune" brain emerged from paleomammilian brain and neomammilian brain structures. That popular term might have taken hold.
There are also many reports of reptilian humanoids, most popularly in South Carolina. Described as having glowing red eyes, scaly skin, 3 fingers and standing 7 feet tall.
A creepy cryptid referred to as the Reptoid has been reported in lots of places underground including someone who said he encountered them in a Missouri cave using some kind of hover crafts and this amazing report of people believing they live under LA in tunnels.
And, then, there is reptilian man -
And, with enough plastic surgery, one might be mistaken for reptilian with the hard smooth skin and pointed nose -
Are there really reptilians among us? I'm not sure there's any humans parading around who are lizard underneath, but I am quite certain that it's not a coincidence that people have complained of moth man, dog man, hairy man, horse-faced man, goat man and lizard man. There could be something to the sightings of lizard men. If you're intrigued by this subject, I highly suggest you check out this Reptoids site for all things Reptoid.
Living the Goth Style: Original Dark Shadows
We have a resurgence among the Yuppie generation for their beloved childhood favorite show, "Dark Shadows." Even Hammer Films has begun putting out movies again with that feel to them like "Woman In Black" and "Wake Wood."
Did you ever feel like you were meant to live in the Victorian era on the moors amongst vampires? Well, let's see what we can do to make your life feel a bit more in sync with that alternative universe.

Join the Blogger Virtual Zombie Walk Event!!!
OH MY GOSH--IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN!
For those of you who don't know about my annual blogger virtual zombie walk event -- you are going to love this! This year, I have handed over the reins to one of the best zombie blogs out there -- Zombies Everywhere.
Note: On the right hand side of the blog here -- a button for the event. Click on it to sign up.
This is how the event works: Any bloggers who want to join, can join. Just sign up. The event will be held on Friday October 19th. Prime Halloween season. You plan a zombie-related post for that day-anything you want from a giveaway to a poem, short story to short film, anything you can imagine. Before the event, the host sends you the links list for all the participants. Just put that at the end of your post so when folks are done with your zombie post, they can click on the next blog and go see another zombie posting, hence the term "zombie walk" - from site to site.
This enables you to get a huge readership that day, possibly lots of new followers, and you make happy zombie-loving readers. Last year, we had 65 blogs on board and the average readership every day on their blogs was 500 reads. You do the math. That's a lot of hits and a lot of exposure. It's a super fun event and it's just a zombie-crazy thing.
Last year, I gave away a prize to the best posting and it was an exceptionally hard thing to choose.
So, click on the banner on the right and hop on over and sign up. It's going to be a fantastic Halloween season!
Mind Fuck Tuesday: Are Humans Becoming Self Aware?
Our DNA is the "computer" programming of our design. If we have duplications or deletions of chromosomes, we deviate from the healthy designed norm. For all intents and purposes, man is a biological computer.
That man is now able to discern his DNA, observe it, learn how it works, what it controls and where it all goes right and wrong in our design, is a huge leap in mankind's knowledge of his self and of his origins.
Were the earlier man-like forms upon the earth what an alien race found when they arrived? Did they use that biological component to place the proper DNA within to allow us self awareness, intelligence, dexterity and upright posture?
Did we "evolve" or did we "boot up?"
Man is being allowed to become "self aware" like a computer that realizes it is a machine and not a life form. He is looking into his very blueprint and realizing his unique coding that makes him "other" from creatures on the planet.
If it is true what the Sumerians wrote of, that man was designed by the alien gods, are those alien gods "allowing" us self awareness now? And, if they are letting us look into our coding, does that mean they believe we are ready to meet?
Mind fuck: Humans are so unique on the earth in our intelligence, self-awareness, technology and understanding of the entire earth and its inhabitants, science and spirituality, that it appears as if humans are the aliens upon the earth.

Planned EVP Session With Our Blogger Friend
John Wolfe's memorial. I wrote that online memorial for a dear blogger friend named John. He read it before he passed. It got his wholehearted approval. He also vowed to make himself available for EVP sessions any time from the other side. He was a master of building home haunt props and making Halloween a traditionally spooky and magical time.
Julie and I, as his blogging friends, will be sitting down to do audio for an EVP session with John (the amazing author of the Season of Shadows blog), allowing him to give a message or say some words that can go back out into the Internet and keep him eternally alive every Halloween. We even dedicated our Zombie Housewives of the 1960s book to him and he was pleased we were going to do that. We decided to zombie-tize him and put him in front of the Munster's house because, knowing John so well, it was exactly what he'd want.
John working on props for Halloween.
We will be airing the results of our EVP session here this month and hopefully John has a Halloween message for us all in the horror-loving blog world. We miss John more than we can say. He was truly the Godfather of Halloween. He had many giveaways and on my blog's lower right side you can find a button to contribute to his charity of choice. Yes, you can be into all the dark spooky stuff and have a heart of gold. John was the most beautiful human being inside and out and we hope to keep him going online every October.
Best Horror Movies With Mannequins
Pin
Seriously twisted and awesome - This 1988 movie has a very "Psycho" feel. Two siblings raised by a physician father who used an anatomical dummy like a talking instructor for them, grow up. But, one of the siblings believes the mannequin lives. And, it compels him to make decisions that lead to death and destruction. Is Pin alive? Or is the young man insane? This is an easily missed but fantastically twisted movie.
The Fear
This 1995 movie involves a wooden tobacco store mannequin. A weekend group goes to a remote cabin for "fear therapy". While each
person is working to conquer their worst fears, they all become
terrorized by a living monster made of wood which stalks each of them in
turn. This is dark and unsettling. Very cool watch.
Tourist Trap
This 1979 movies is probably the most unsettling mannequin movie of all time. A group of young friends stranded at a secluded roadside museum are
stalked by the owner of the place, who has the power to control his
collection of mannequins. This one has tons of mannequins and lots of insanity.
