It's been a brutal summer and it isn't even half over. Let's pretend we're at a country farm autumn festival. Is the Schnepf Farms event in Queen Creek, AZ that Julie and I and our buddies to go to every year.
Wax paper leaves. The theme song from Halloween. Night of the Living Dead.
Hot baths. Sweaters. Thick socks. Fuzzy slippers. Chimney smoke.
Chili and corn bread. Crunchy leaves. Long shadows. Short days.
Hot apple cider. Sweet pumpkin. Bonfires. Full moons.
Candy corn. Caramel apples. Halloween. Horror movies. Bats.
Slick leaves. Forest mushrooms. Pine needles. Birds flying south.
Granny smith apples. Hot cocoa. Soft blanket. Creaking wooden floors.
Sunflowers. Chilly noses. Jackets. Firewood.
Darkness. Owls. Corduroy.
A little video I did at the farm festival, inspired by horror movies -
Now are you in the mood for autumn?
Oh poop... I AM IN THE MOOD FOR AUTUMN NOW!ReplyDelete
That's not fair.
I love autumn, fav time of year, except usually I am facing the backlog of work I didn't get done in the spring and summer. So I'm glad your post today reminded me today that autumn *is* coming and I'd better move it now if I want to enjoy this fall. thxReplyDelete
