Lake Morena Campground in Campo, California. Expect whispers, footfalls, a woman in white, and more. It has quite the reputation.
Moon Lake in Roosevelt, Utah.
This one has its own lake monster, "Moonie." Expect strange lights, cold spots, and a feeling of being watched.
Artillery Ridge Campground, Gettysburg, PA.
Campers hear things like cannon fire, drums beating, and screams. You may not sleep, but you sure are badass brave!
EQUIPMENT: You will find a lot of ghost boxes, REM pods, electrician tools, and more among the ghost avid, but honestly as someone with a lifetime of experience and living in a deeply haunted location, cameras do not pick up what humans see. Are we wired to recognize a soul or are we allowed to view them without proof? Who knows. What I do know is that looking down at instruments makes you miss all the nuances - the feeling of being watched, a breeze on your cheek, a tug at your shirt, a shadow passing by. That concentration in a dark quiet atmosphere makes all your senses keener. Don't worry about proof. Have an experience and you can only do that if your full attention is on it.
If you want to use something, I'd suggest a digital recorder - a few of them. The reason is, you may ask a question and the answer will come from the bathroom or the kitchen, or another area of the building.
UFOs - Unknown lights
UFO watching can be done anywhere, but certain locations up your changes dramatically. The Western US should be your target viewing.

Tonapah, NV
It helps to be near Area 51 and be associated with tons of weird and unexplained things in the sky. This tiny town holds secrets tightly. It is almost guaranteed that you'll be seeing stuff you can't explain. Consider bringing your nightvision binoculars -

Sedona, AZ
This trip is a win/win situation. Sedona is a place everyone should see once in their lifetime. It's an unreal textured landscape of red rock and contrasting green desert plants. There are hundreds of new age shops with art, crytals, incense, palm readers, aura photographers, drum circles, jeep tours, healing methods. It sounds like windchimes and Indian flutes. It smells of sandalwood and patchouli. It also boasts some of the best UFO watching in the world.
There is probably no better place in the world to let your paranormal geek loose! There's nothing like hiking to the vortexes and feeling a complete renewal of every cell in your body, your mind empties, like rebooting a computer.

EQUIPMENT: My best advice is nightvision binoculars (link above). There is also an app by Steven Greer called CE5 and it guides you about how to call in UFOs. I've tried it. It truly works. You can simply lovingly ask them to come in your mind and they seem to sense consciousness. I do believe that is the greater connection for all life forms.
