"The Lost Coast Tapes"

For release in 2012 by New Breed Entertainment, “The Lost Coast Tapes” is about a cynical investigative journalist and his documentary team traveling to a remote cabin to debunk a Cryptozoologist's claim of finding a dead Bigfoot, but their film quickly becomes a record of their life and battle against an unseen horror.

I'm always a huge fan of indie films and especially ones having to do with BF!!! I am avidly following this and will be updating.

  5. Wow, I didn't even see Bubba's comment and that's exactly where my mind went as well. Is this going to be a mainstream release, or direct to DVD? Looks like it could be fun on the big screen...

  7. Yahoo--stalking! I always encourage that! I don't know if it's going to big screen, but I need to stalk them a bit more closely to see. I'm sure at the point of filming it, they may not know yet. Hopefully, there can be a groundswell. There are so few BF movies!

  13. I think documentary style horror is easily one of the most clever genres to appear in film. We are so wired to easily accept anything we see on the Discovery Channel or Nat Geo as gospel so it's easier to suspend our disbelief.

I saw a trailer for another movie that was supposed to come out this year that had the same style. I think I posted it as a comment for you one time as well. But it looks like a take on shows like Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State, only they actually find something that pursues them.

  14. I'm pretty cool with this genre unless it's done poorly. I thought Paranormal Activity was just miserable in every single way, but Blair Witch Project had an authenticity to it. I felt like I was trekking along with them in the woods. Hopefully, this movie snags that feel.

  15. Agreed on Paranormal Activity, but I will say this about it. I had convinced a certain someone in my life that it was actually a documentary and she didn't find out until six months later when the DVD came out and I had completely forgotten about it. I still hear about that one...
