New Paranormal-themed show

Okay, it's a reality show, I know, but hey, it involves a psychic so I'm kind of curious. I saw a few ads for it, but SyFy folks were nice enough to send me this clip above. We can expect on Wednesday nights this summer to see GHI (Ghost Hunters International) and GHA (Ghost Hunters Academy) on SyFy, but this show gives SyFy and, well, all the channels the only Thursday night paranormal show. I can finally fill that night in on my weekly calendar on my blog!

"Mary Knows Best" premieres on July 15th at 9 pm(EST). Description: "Mary Knows Best is a docu-soap reality series following Mary Occhino, a successful radio host, psychic intuitive and mother of three, who gives a whole new meaning to the term "mother is always right". Her children, Jackie, Chris and Carl are a mismatched group of siblings consisting of a skeptic, a paranormal investigator and a reluctant psychic. In each episode viewers will meet a humorous and unforgettable cast of family characters including Mary’s outspoken older brother Charles and two adorable grandchildren."

It seems less like the paranormal and more like most of our lives with having paranormal interests in a world that's not always accommodating to our oddities. We may have found a kindred spirit in Mary. So, I'll be sending you a reminder when the time comes on my Monday listing of paranormal shows for the week, so keep a watch out.

  1. That sounds promising and interesting. Thanks for the heads-up. It actually sounds like something a little different, for a change. :)

  2. I agree. I love giving everything a chance and usually once I get sucked into a person's life, I'm hooked. I'm kind of curious how she handles her mix of family life and being psychic. It's always been something that I had to beat down and hide, so it'll be interesting to see someone whose family accepts it, or maybe not??

  3. Hmm, interesting. Some of these psychic shows are good, some get corny. Interested to see where this one falls ...

  4. I agree Portia. The problem with a lot of psychics that make a living at it is that they tend to be over the top drama queens which is so embarrassing for the honest psychics who aren't making it a production-based talent.
