Ouija

Well, I completed my Ouija vignette wall hanging. I just need to come up with a proper way to hang it that is suitable. I think I'll do a black ribbon. It happens to be a glow-in-the-dark board which gives it a whole new neat effect with the lights off. I have plans to do a lot of these vignettes with creepy themes and hopefully get them all to glow in the dark. I like the idea that after you turn out the lights, it's sort of still alive like a ghost... This vignette has a vintage stoic photo of a father and son, a watch, a handercheif, a stub of a candle that melted down, the planchette and some wear and tear as well as a wine stain. I like the feeling. I can almost imagine the setting in which it was vigorously used. The next one I hope to put together will be either "seance" or "tarot." Well, that's my goofy artsy project for this week.

  1. This turned out very artsy. I do like glow in the dark items. On my screened porch I have a tree in a cream can with glow in the dark snakes laced through the branches. It is so cool to sit on the swing in the summer and enjoy the breeze and the snakes aglow.

  2. Yeah, I agree. I have glow in the dark stars all over my ceiling in my bedroom. When I go to bed at night, I lie there and study it and feel like I'm outside. It's sooooo wonderful.

  5. Looks pretty good, girl.

    Those Ouija Boards are something else that I'm just not too sure of. I'm wondering if those things really do what I've been told about. I've been told by others that they are the source of Evil. Are they?

  6. Hey Les;
    I'm probably not a good person to ask because I'm extremely practical. I don't believe that any manufacturer of a game board could instill evil anymore than Monopoly or Scrabble. It's all in the mind of the people using it. I don't believe in "evil" as a concept or demons or any of that rot, but I definitely believe that scared and superstitious people can go to town with a Ouija board and work themselves into hysteria. If people fear the board, I'd say--stay away from it, it'll bring out the worst in you. Hope that explains my viewpoint.
