Lost Treasure:: Two Colorado River Treasures

I am sharing yet another legendary Arizona treasure for your enjoyment or possibly to spark your next trek into the desert.

This legend takes us to the Colorado River bordering with California.

The legend goes that several tons of Spanish gold buillon and silver is supposedly hidden in the bluffs of the Colorado River on the Arizona side, about 15-20 miles south of Ehrenberg. This treasure is referred to as the "Sunlit Cave" treasure.

Another Colorado River legend is said to be 35 miles north of Yuma along the Colorado River. Apparently, bandits robbed an army payload and followed the Colorado River where they found a small cave to hide in. They came across gold nuggets on the banks of the river and found the quartz vein motherlode and began to mine there, between two peaks. It is said they buried the nuggets in the low dip between two peaks. They had to take off with authorities in chase. Through a series of events, no one went back for the treasure.

As any of these legends I share are entertaining, also keep in mind the dangers involve in treasure hunting. Never risk anything you aren't willing to lose.
