Fishing the Florida Keys

One thing I know about my readers is that y'all do love the outdoors and adventuring, whether it's chasing the unknown, watching the night sky, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and all the excitement of life outdoors.

Today, I thought I'd share something on my bucket list and I know probably on a lot of your's - deep sea fishing in the Florida Keys.

As an artist, I'm fascinated by the colors and textures of the fish. They are so artfully designed that I would like to do a series of oil paintings depicting macro views of he striping, colors, and scales.

Here's just some of what you might pull out of the ocean. My dream catch is a mahi mahi, also known as the dolphin fish.

If you are intrigued by the idea of loading up on a boat with a group of buddies and heading out into the impossibly blue ocean to pull out some of the tastiest (and well-earned) fish, consider The Keys.

To get you started, I highly recommend a channel on YouTube that is thrilling and gorgeous, beautifully filmed and edited, as well as charmingly hosted by a couple who lives and breathes The Keys, boats, and fising. Life By the Bow.

For divers, there are coral reefs, spear fishing, and lots of old wrecks to explore. For those who love excitement and the magic of reeling in a prize fish, it's top of the bucket list!

Get a charter with several others and share the expense, spend at least 4 hours out on the water capturing a variety of amazing fish.
