Night Vision IR Binoculars with 4K
I've seen a lot of UFOs in Arizona, but it is a capital of clear skies and strange objects flying around.
I have some tips and tricks -
Keep a notebook and pen around because you are going to want to take notes of everything from weather and time, location, other witnesses, movement, color, etc.
You might consider something like this journal -

Get away from the city as much as possible. Clear skies and no light pollution means you're able to see things with your eyes that you might want to investigate with the binoculars (above).
In general, the Western US is ideal. It's not just clear skies and less population so more night sky, but also it has been a concentration of both nuclear facilities, nuclear experiments, and military bases that seem to be an attraction. As well, if mining is another interest, that is the place to go.
Some areas are very well known for seeing things - Tonopah, Nevada
Mono Lake, California
Mt. Shasta California
Sedona Arizona.
Uinta Basin, Nevada
Consider trying anywhere that has loads of paranormal and odd things going on like Bridgewater Triangle, Extraterrestrial Highway, etc.

If you plan to really camp out and watch for awhile, consider a comfy lounge chair so you can look up. If you are with others, pinwheel the chairs so your heads meet, but each of you points to a different part of the sky to cover more territory.
