Kap Dwa: The Two-Headed Giant

I admit that, as a researcher, I've combed all the books of early explorers and what they found when they landed on isolated shores. Certain ones really fascinate me the most because they speak of giant people, like the Canary Islands, Easter Island, Peru, Andaman Islands, but Patagonia is one of the great gems, as well.

It is said that in the 17th Century, Ferdinand Magellan explored the region of Argentina, especially an area referred to as Patagonia. He said he and his crew encountered a two-headed giant of 12-feet in height.

Accounts are vague about how and when Kap Dwa died, whether they captured him alive and he died on the ship back to Europe or if he was already dead. His body, by the 19th Century was on display in England as an oddity, sideshow sort of find.

Today, the "body" is on display in Baltimore, Maryland at Bob's Side Show at Antique Man, Ltd.

Apparently, x-rays showed no evidence of fakery. The jury is out until someone is willing to scan the mummy.

Another mummy story comes from the Canary Islands where Spanish explorers came across a tribe of people who had no boats, seemed to be stranded on their own island, didn't even have contact with the people on the other islands. They were a beautiful and exceptionally tall people with red and blonde hair. Here is a mummy of one of the females being scanned -

It's pretty apparent that this mummy is exceptionally big, especially compared to the radiology worker prepping it to be scanned.

Did Kap Dwa exist? Well, somehow for 400 years it managed to remain in a good state of mummification. If I lived in the Baltimore area, I'd go give it a look-see myself.

BTW, there is a definitely fake giant mummy and her baby on display in an Arizona "museum." It's cool, but obviously not a mummy.

You be the judge.
