Review: "The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch" S6 E11 "Hard to Handle"

Tonight's episode description -

After forensic examination of the ceramic found in the mesa reveals something stunning, the team must decide how to approach the mesa project.

Another piece of ceramics found in the mesa didn't quite resemble the rest. Drilling continued into the second borehole completion. Things seemed to go smoothly finally. Thomas went up on the mesa to see it punch through, but they hit another hard layer with almost no movement of the drill. They were 35 feet from the top.

In Orem, Utah, the team (Travis/Erik/Brandon) had a Utah Valley University expert look at the ceramic samples from the mesa. They used a scanning electron microscope to see the ceramic as very close up as they can by enormous magnification. This showed meticulous crosshatching that was instrumented/tooled. There were pits appearing on the surface. This was something with unique properties that was no a common rock. When they turned off the microscope to test the effects of the microscope beam on the surface, the holes had somehow recovered almost back to normal! It was repairing itself!

They then decided to look at the elemental components. The exterior elements were interesting and could be used to not be seen by radar. The interior components were different. It appeared to have a protective outer and different inner.

Brandon decides they need to stop drilling and reevaluate how to study it without hurting it.

I still hold with the concept that they will learn from what they found, Travis will share it with the government secretly, and then they will utilize it as we move toward time travel, will crash the ship built with the knowledge of the one that crashed long long ago, and then in a crazy time loop, find the material and learn how to build a ship, to once again crash it into the mesa.

My second concept is that the ancient civilizations before ours, the ones that built megalithic structures during megafauna/megaflora life on Planet Earth, had crashed a ship made with their technology.

This (above) is likely what that culture would say to ours as we come across their archaeology.

I'm a bit annoyed that they drilled hundreds of feet, only about 40 feet from the top and stopped. They found hardly any matter ijn the spoils. The last friggin' 40 feet aren't going to ruin the project. For goodness sake, Brandon!

Travis suggested a dome on the drill with a camera, see what they are doing.

I hope they get around this "obstacle" because it's rather pussified at this point after one borehole completed and the other about 7/8 done.

The archaeologist Chris found something in the highest drill so far in the second borehole. He found a 1964 US nichel.

My guess is this confirms that Bigelow did explode part of the mesa to hide something.

Their reasoning was that someone did an archaeological dig there in the 1960s, but I'm not sure I agree with that. I carry old coins on me all the time, not necessariy 2025 ones.

Something from the surface could have been shaken into the earth after an explosion to cover a cave. And, if we want to get really mystical, objects seem to be able to pass through the mesa.... We know that Bigelow had a reputation for burying his equipment (like he did at the previous ranch) and there's nothing to say Bigelow didn't do that on top of the mesa, like a dog kicking dirt over its crap.

Hint of next week: They found the material to be a superconductor and as they dropped instruments down the hole, they found something in pieces.
