Everyone has their favorite episodes of "The X-Files," but for me one stands out - "Darkness Falls" (Season 1 episode 20 - see link at bottom of post to buy season 1 which is an amazing season!!!)
Continuing with the "Hiding in the Forest" theme for this season, this episode provides a dark, misty, creepy ass forest like you never imagined.
A group of loggers working in a remote forest unearths thousands of deadly insectlike creatures that paralyze and cocoon their victims. Scully, Mulder and a few others end up trapped there.
If you're going to start to collect the series, I suggest Season One as your first choice. It has soooo much creepy content that is utterly classic, and before they began the government conspiracy jump-the-shark stuff, back when they were concentrating on monsters and mysteries.
