What's the Deal With 11:11 on the Clock?

Other than the odd 3:00 a.m. awakening phenomenon, no other time on the clock strikes our fascination more than 11:11. It is likely a fixation since digital clocks arrived, as I suspect it held no synchronicity on an analog clock. So, why do we take note of this time?

Like any other "sign," whether it's a good sign or a bad sign depends on the interpreter. For me, an owl hooting has always been associated with my life taking a 180 turn the next day. To others, it is a sign of protection, a visit from a deceased loved one, or perhaps a lucky symbol.

There is definitely a synchronicity to the time 11:11 as every numerical space on the clock is displaying the same number, which does not happen with 0,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, or 9.

I recently (the past few months) since my mentor's passing in October, been having so much connection to this time on the clock. I am working and for some reason, I feel compelled to get up and wander into the kitchen where the clock on the microwave reads 11:11. I am trying to fall asleep at night and glance up at the clock and it's 11:11. I am outside working in the garden and look at the cell phone to see the time and it's 11:11.

Of course, various other times I look at the clock and it's 4:36 or 2:21, but I don't make note of how weird that is as they are unmemorable times.

One thing we know about people is that their very interpretation of events causes cascading results. Suppose you think redheads are bad luck on boats. You take friends out all the time and goofy things occur, like getting stuck with a fishing hook or someone forgetting the beer, but the one time you take a redhead on board and the engine dies, it verifies that old wive's tale in your mind. The result of such a situation is equating your red-haired friend with boat problems, hence you never ask her to go boating again. The issues cascade as the red-haired friend now worries that you don't like her anymore as she lost favor somehow so she avoids you and the friendship fades off.

If you choose to see 11:11 as a good luck sign, that can have very cascading good events. Many people believe when you see 11:11 you must make a wish. Others believe it's a sign from their deceased loved ones. And, quite a few of us see it as meaning we are making good choices and are still in alignment with a karmic reward.

As I mentioned, since my mentor died, I keep running into 11:11 so often that I've come to say out loud, "what use is this sign if I don't know what it means?" I suppose I could assign a meaning to it. I feel in my gut as if it's telling me that everything will be okay and the time is coming near that things fall into place. It's like a synchronistic and divine timing that eases my anxiety and gives me a little mental tap that, "yes, you're on the right road." I would equate this with a divine nudge that I am doing what I came here to do.

I would be curious to know if anyone else attributes special meaning to the time 11:11 on a digital clock's reading?

  1. It reminds me of something from the novel THE HOBBIT. IF I remember correctly, near the beginning of the story Bilbo Baggins is celebrating his 111th birthday. The Hobbits refer to it as "eleventy-one". I think of that when I see "11:11" on a digital clock.

  2. To know the truth about mysteries there are two ways, 1- Knowledge from God, 2- Scientific Knowledge. Knowledge from God is the most authentic and true knowledge. The knowledge gained from scientific studies and experimentations also brings us near to the reality and truth but it takes decades, centuries of research and experiments. But still the resulted knowledge is questionable and incomplete. We should gain both knowledges.

11:11 appears only on digital clock. When we say there will be something good or bad happening at this exact time then we should also keep it in mind that 11th hour and 11th minute are not the only unique characteristics of time here. We don't have any reference of proof in this support but only rumours and experiences.

Why We forgot the 11th second?

Anything could happen at any second. We can die the very next second. We do believe but why we forget the seconds here in this 11:11 theory.
We all know there is a regional time zone difference all over the world. If it's 11PM in US then it may be AM in China or likewise in other regions.

Every good or bad thing can happen at any time but I do believe that a moment comes in every day and every night. That moment is so special that only good happens at that time. if any one make a wish or pray to God, his/her will be granted/accepted the very moment. No one exactly knows the correct time of that moment. The blessed time of the whole night. May be it's 11:11:11.
