We really have not documented but a small portion of ocean life. It wasn't until recently we realized there was even life adapted to volcanic vents in the hottest water. And, as for the deepest depths - we only get a window of opportunity with the best research vessels and lighting that can only illuminate the tiniest bit of the massive ocean floor that takes up almost 3/4 of our planet's surface.
Let's take a look at some of the cutest, goofiest, and downright unsettling deep sea finds, so far. Remember, tomorrow, there might be a lot more on this parade lineup, as they are being discovered regularly.
