Mind Fuck Tuesday: Were Ancient Giants Really Atlanteans?

Story of Atlantis summarized:  Over 11,000 years ago there existed an island nation located in the middle of the Atlantic ocean populated by a noble and powerful race. The people of this land possessed great wealth thanks to the natural resources found throughout their island. The island was a center for trade and commerce. The rulers of this land held sway over the people and land of their own island and well into Europe and Africa.
This was the island of Atlantis.
Atlantis was the domain of Poseidon, god of the sea. When Poseidon fell in love with a mortal woman, Cleito, he created a dwelling at the top of a hill near the middle of the island and surrounded the dwelling with rings of water and land to protect her.
Cleito gave birth to five sets of twin boys who became the first rulers of Atlantis. The island was divided among the brothers with the eldest, Atlas, first King of Atlantis, being given control over the central hill and surrounding areas.
At the top of the central hill, a temple was built to honor Poseidon which housed a giant gold statue of Poseidon riding a chariot pulled by winged horses. It was here that the rulers of Atlantis would come to discuss laws, pass judgments, and pay tribute to Poseidon.
To facilitate travel and trade, a water canal was cut through of the rings of land and water running south for 5.5 miles (~9 km) to the sea. The city of Atlantis sat just outside the outer ring of water and spread across the plain covering a circle of 11 miles (1.7 km). This was a densely populated area where the majority of the population lived. Beyond the city lay a fertile plain 330 miles (530 km) long and 110 miles (190 km) wide surrounded by another canal used to collect water from the rivers and streams of the mountains. The climate was such that two harvests were possible each year. One in the winter fed by the rains and one in the summer fed by irrigation from the canal.
Surrounding the plain to the north were mountains which soared to the skies. Villages, lakes, rivers, and meadows dotted the mountains.
Besides the harvests, the island provided all kinds of herbs, fruits, and nuts. An abundance of animals, including elephants, roamed the island.
For generations the Atlanteans lived simple, virtuous lives. But slowly they began to change. Greed and power began to corrupt them. When Zeus saw the immorality of the Atlanteans he gathered the other gods to determine a suitable punishment.
Soon, in one violent surge it was gone. The island of Atlantis, its people, and its memory were swallowed by the sea.

The deeper I go into the mystery of the ancient giants, one theme runs through my mind (and no doubt the minds of those trying to hide the secrets), how was this enormous race of people here in America before the arrival of paleo-indians and utilizing such advanced capabilities that were way ahead of our time (at least us short homo sapiens' time)?  They used tools, duck decoys, remarkable fabric and basket weaving, metallurgy, hieroglyphs, rock architecture, pipe making, and more--and this was about 8000 to 15,000 years ago! Native legends tell of these ancients being here before their people arrived. These giants were freshwater pearl diving and building elaborate structures with sliding stone entrances and pounded metal armor.

The question best to be asked; were these giants really relocated Atlanteans?

Ancient giants were found all over the world and yet we don't seem to have any way to explain their existence or their knowledge and impressive size. They seem to defy what we think we know about evolution and the timeline of the family of man.

In the famous psychic prophet Edgar Cayce's readings of Atlantis, he stated,

"A question in a…general reading on Atlantis asked about the kind of people that existed then: Q.3: “Please give a few details regarding the physiognomy, habits, customs and costumes of the people of Atlantis during the period just before the first destruction.” A.3:…These took on many sizes as to stature, from that as may be called the midget [Hobbit? - GJ] to the GIANTS - for there were GIANTS IN THE EARTH IN THOSE DAYS, men as tall as (what would be termed today) ten or twelve feet in stature, and well proportioned throughout...There are indications of disturbances about 50,000 years B.C. Another upheaval seems to have taken place at about 28,000 B.C., at which time the continent was split into islands, while the final destruction of the remaining islands took place about 10,000 B.C. It is this last destruction... that Plato describes in his writings.

Each period of destruction lasted months or years rather than days. In each case there was sufficient warning so that many of the inhabitants escaped to Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Thus, according to the Edgar Cayce readings, both of the Americas and portions of Europe have felt the influx of Atlanteans [Giants] more than once in the unrecorded past..." [The] second period of destruction did not entirely destroy Atlantis, according to the Edgar Cayce readings. The land was split into islands. Some lost their lives and some migrated elsewhere, but many stayed and for a while things quieted down. A high state of civilization continued, for electricity is mentioned and atomic energy implied. This may have been the period of polar shifting, for climatic changes from temperate to torrid are suggested by “the shifting of the activities of the Earth itself.."

In studying the commonalities in ancient giants in America, a few things become apparent, such as their love of seashells. They not only adorned themselves with freshwater pearls and lots of seashell jewelry, but even those found more inland had shells for bowls (Iowa) and they were obviously prized and buried alongside their dead. They set up their lives along lakes where they built communities. All of this is interesting if you consider an island nation that is now land-locked. Was this a part of continuing their traditions, just as Norwegians might settle in Minnesota where the climate is similar to their origins?

The use of hieroglyphs at such a remote time period and the fact that they resembled Egyptian hieroglyphs is telling, as well. If their heiroglyphs were spread around the world to wherever the giant Atlanteans ended up, they might have influenced pyramid building in South America, Egypt and China, as well as giving the basis for ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, Hebrew, Sumarian and other texts that later had similarities to one another.

In one fell swoop, the commonalities between ancient people on different continents suddenly has a logical explanation; it wasn't aliens, it was escaped Atlanteans!

This is just your thought for the days, my dearies. I do so hope I've f'd with your mind like 3 cups of coffee of a swig of DayQuil, at least.
