Dam of the Damned?

This beautiful dam in West Virginia was also the site of something very unusual. Was it pareidolia (the tendency to see faces in shapes) or was it something more sinister?

Workers were cutting away the rock in a place they referred to as the glory hole - a cavern. When they cut away the rock, they saw a demonic-looking face on the surface with what appeared to be horns. An ancient image imprinted in rock or just an amazingly creepy accident of nature?

Some men were quite spooked and not comfortable going inside there again. Ultimately, it was filled in with concrete.

So, does this make the location the dam of the damned?
