I have to
admit that when I was a kid I was a tomboy and competitive with the
boys in sports. I preferred their walkie talkies and Hot Wheels, that
they could shoot baskets almost as good as I could and could give me
a game of tennis that kept me running. I wanted to talk about what
they were talking about and I wanted to build tree forts with them
and at the same time, I wanted to kiss them senseless.
Men are
exciting.
It's not
just the physical, but the way they think and their attitude. They
are quick to take credit when they do something right. They enjoy the
sense of control in their lives and the ambitious drive to see what
they are capable of. They want to top themselves at tasks they
undertake. They can be in the moment when it comes to sex and
intimacy in a way that women often cannot when they are preoccupied
with how their "rolls of fat" look, if the kids can hear
them, or what they have to do on their chore list the next day.
Men live
in the moment.
I might
complain about how tough it is to find a man who is tall enough,
funny, liberal, likes horror and the paranormal, sex and might not
mind photographing abandoned places or shooting baskets until sunset,
but honestly it's not all misery. Every day, I encounter men who meet
the requirements. But, it's still a struggle to find ones who are
also not spoken for.
I continue
to be optimistic because, well, I'm hardly going to give up men.
They're
just too yummy!
See? And some people say living in the moment makes men a simple species.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Being able to turn off the world around me, and just focus. Sex, for example, is much more fun when you're into it, and that's easy for a guy to do.
Speaking of... brb.
Hang in there, Autumn! When the time is right fate will draw the two of you together. It will probably happen once you are more firmly established as a successful author. Perhaps the absence of a man is the gods telling you that your focus needs to be on your career right now.
