Witches used to be "wicked" and Jack-o-lanterns used to be happy. Now, in the latest Halloween motif, witches are cheerful and Jack-o-lanterns look angry and mean.
haha that guy from Willy Wonka is pretty creepy. When I was younger the movie that creeped me out was Something Wicked This Way Comes (83). It's funny cause he had a top hat too. Maybe the underlying thing is fear of Top Hats :)
SD77: (this said by a man wearing a mask). I get you on the Willy Wonka dude. Anyone who takes a kid aside to make a deal with them, pretty scary to a kid.
I agree with ALL of your picks.

ReplyDeleteI considered Pennywise, but then that wasn't a kids movie. It scared me as an adult.
ReplyDeletei forgot that dude from chitty2 bang2... not he will be in my nightmares, great list.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't so much a character, but the river boat tunnel scene from "Willy Wonka" scared the everlasting gobstoppers out of me!
