Just had to mention that I was open-minded seeing a new show on Syfy that had to do with the paranormal. "Paranormal Witness" was more like "bad-reenactment-by-people-with-some-serious-not-haunted-issues Witness."
I gave it a try. I owe it to them because few channels try so hard to spit out paranormal shows. But, then, they also gave us that godawful "Paranormal Collector" with that crazy klepto dude with no psychometrist on staff and that "Mary Knows Best" horribly miserable show. Oh, hell, now that I think of it, they also gave us "Ghost Hunter Academy" and they screwed up the whole concept of "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files," and the horribly boring "Legend Quest." I guess they aren't batting too well, are they?
"Ghost Hunters" and "Destination Truth" were the only worthy "paranormal" shows they've dug up. I feel like an idiot with dementia because I seem to forget how many bad ones they conceive of and I go and watch them thinking maybe this time, it'll be a gem.
Dear Syfy; Take some advice PUH-LEASE--be character driven. We would watch Josh Gates scrape mud off his boots, he's real and delightful. Jason and Grant, real and well used to be delightful (now, they seem a bit bored and distracted). The others shows have no life in them, no personality. Well, Syfy, like I say--when you want to do a paranormal show people want to see and won't be tedious or expensive--contact me. I know what the fuck I'm talking about.
**P.S. The Blogger Virtual Zombie Walk event has 40 participants so far. Let me know if you want to join in on the September 30th event. With 40 bloggers participating, each with followers and lots of social media to publicize, I suspect this blogging event will be very over the top awesome with lots of traffic moseying through the participating blogs. Check the zombie button on the left-hand side and click on it to learn more and then contact me. I'm at ghosthuntingtheories at gmail**
I was so disappointed. I couldn't get through it. I just went to bed. Glad I'm not the only one who didn't like Legend Quest.
ReplyDeleteditto tried it and gave up before it was over ...
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly, I glanced up at it near the ending and thought "thank you! I actually want to watch another really boring Ghost Hunters instead."
ReplyDeleteThis is the network that thought Elf was somehow a relevant movie to play around Christmas time last year. So...
ReplyDeleteHey, I actually LOVE Elf! :-) I'm a dork.
ReplyDeletedamn it was that good huh. Looks like I can skip watching it then, def saves me some time :)
ReplyDeleteSD77; You would have yawned and fallen asleep, I promise. I wish Syfy would quit putting their cash down the toilet. I have the show and the premise that would totally work. In fact, I'm going to pitch it here on the blog tomorrow.
