My Blogger Crushes!

(giggle, giggle)

Admit it, we all browse through blogs and then develop a sort of crush on the blog and the person who writes it. There's something about a blogger opening up his sense of humor, intelligence, passion and sometimes bits of his personal life that makes us feel like we know him, kind of like how many feel about celebrities they've seen on TV or movies.

So, what bloggers am I crushing on from afar?

I go through my phases, different bloggers at different times, depending on what attributes they have that strike my fancy at the time. Expect the list to change periodically (like women change their hair color). Yes, many of them are married and in relationships, but that doesn't keep me from a very girlish intrigue with them.

Cinema Steve A talented writer who says it like it is--no bullshit! I admire that!

Adrian from "By the Canon Viewfinder" has a romantic point of view behind the lens photographing picturesque New England.

Lewis from Southern Taphophile and Southern Spirit Guide is a southern gentleman who loves history and mystery in a romantic and respectful way.

Monkey Man's site Petzold's Practical Prose, is what I call "orgasmaprose" material. He has a way of doing a poem and then throwing you a zinger at the end that you didn't see coming.

Bubba from This is Bubba's Place is a ridiculously talented poet and photographer who adores his wife. What a fantastic commentary that such good men exist.

Barry at Gnostalgia is a charming lover of books, steampunk style, spirituality and paganism, magic and mayhem. A true renaissance man.

Zombies Everywhere has my attention first for the slick look of the site, but then when I start reading it, I realize this guy has talent. I love to see talented zombie enthusiasts writing, interviewing, and blogging. He's just quirky, hip, and fun!

Scott from Anything Horror is just a freaking talent in everything he does. I found his reviews of horror movies completely jived with my take on them, then I found out he was a remarkable horror writer, as well.

John from Season of Shadows I often refer to as the Father of Halloween. He not only loves the season, but believes in giving back, has a huge heart, and the most amazing talent at creating maiche monsters that give true shivers!

Cullan from Strange State is ridiculously talented in writing, art, and traveling. He's handsome, kind, and a curious adventurer. After reading his upcoming horror fiction "The Mound" before its publication, I believe he might be one of my favorite horror writers.

Storm at The Wolf's Eyes is obviously immersed in his subject of interest, wolves and werewolves, extremely well read, fantastic writer, romantic attitude about the subject, dark and atmospheric.

Pangs from Improbable Frontiers just freaking makes me laugh so hard every time I read his posts. It's like he and I have the exact same sense of humor. I love the things he notices and his obsession with Bigfoot.

Jeremy at izombie is an amazing artist (I have some of his pieces) but he's also a big kid about his subject matter of obsession--zombies! He's funny, interesting, and quirky.

Slowdeath 77 at Horror Smorgasbord not only loves horror, but has a blog that feels a bit like watching one of the local cable channel's late night horror movie hosted specials. I love the feel of it and his attitude. That, and I have a real kinky thing for men in Halloween masks.

Leo at Leo Godin is a ridiculously talented writer and nice guy. In fact, I met him in my writer's group here locally and we've helped to edit each other's work. He has a wide range of writing ability and seems to master all of them with an ease and talent that screams "I need to be a full-time writer" and I hope to see him to this end.

Cliff at North American Bigfoot is well known for "Finding Bigfoot" fame, but he has a wonderful child-like excitement about Bigfoot, an absolute belief in his existence and is willing to roll up his sleeves and search.

Now, I know I haven't hit all the crushes. I rotate them as my moods change. Expect to see more crushes coming later when I find myself in a new phase obsession. Just know that each man and each blog has a special characteristic(s) that makes my toes curl and none of them have to do with looks, careers, or anything else but honest talent, kind hearts, intelligence, humor, creativity, and quirkiness.

In other words, men, you have not gone unnoticed by this crazy redhead!

I also have my own love of masks that's why I collect them especially if they look weird. I have monster masks, gas masks,I want to do a post on them one day. I even have a gas mask tattoo and my very own real straight jacket. I like to collect weird things in general haha.
