You only get a few words to make a lasting impression...
Here lies
Johnny Yeast
Pardon me
For not rising.
Here lies the body
of Jonathan Blake
Stepped on the gas
Instead of the brake.
I told you I was sick!
She always said her feet were killing her
but nobody believed her.
Here lies an Atheist
All dressed up
And no place to go.
Here lays Butch,
We planted him raw.
He was quick on the trigger,
But slow on the draw.
**In a few hours, a post goes up for a new episode of Ghost Adventures tonight that will be "dam" fun with a "dam" exciting drinking game!**
All those sound like little death puns you would see at The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. lol.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere on the 'net is a photo of a woman's tombstone that says something along the lines of, "I told you I was sick!"
ReplyDeleteIf I weren't be cremated, I'd actually like a humorous tombstone. I'm a joker in life, so why not in death? I think it'd be funny to have a recording of my voice in the headstone that is motion activated for me to complain about people walking over my grave.
ReplyDeleteHere lies the body of big John,
ReplyDeletewho died with a big smile on,
he came, and then he went...
from Boothill:
Here lies George Johnson
hanged by mistake 1882
he was right, we was wrong
but we strung him up
and now he's gone
Here lies the body of Lester Moore
four slugs from a 44
no Les, no more
(this is one that everyone pretty much knows)
Hey sis, when we do the ghost hunt at Birdcage in Tombstone next month, we will have to go onto Boot Hill and look at the hilarious headstones. It cracked me up. I'd like to show you the original cemetery too. It has a very weird feng shui feeling about it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite would be 'What does this button do?'
ReplyDeleteHaha, oh dear. I believe I am as sick as you Sharon. I had a few clients looking at me while I was chuckling to myself.
ReplyDeleteMrs. MM and I photo shoot at cemeteries and have a shot of a head stone somewhere that has name, dates etc on a tile scrabble board. Dude must have had a passion for the game. If I find it I will send it to you.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, MM and Mrs. MM! I have a morbid habit of taking pics of headstones where the person had an appropriate name--like this photo above of "Coffin." I've gotten "Barry Behlow" one time. That one cracked me up. "Underwood" (under a tree) and more!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! There is a marker here at one of my favorite cemeteries that says:
ReplyDelete"Here lies a bundle of mistakes"
I wish I could take a photo of it, but the last several times I went visiting, it has either been stolen or removed! I should have photographed it years ago! It was a flat marker from the 30's or 40's I believe. A man. How sad! You have to wonder did he do that on purpose or did someone else do it?
I bet an ex-wife had to claim his carcass and bury it, so she left the last laugh.
