The Place So Far....

  1. Thank, ya'all. I can't wait to get it done. I have a viking helmet I want to throw into the mix on the bookshelf too once I fix the shelf. Learning how to put on a new showerhead and a water purifier on the sink. I'm handier than I thought. Who needs a man? Oh yeah, me (but not for the tools he uses on the sink)....

  2. What a cozy place and I really liked your painting and the neat objects on your wall and my favorite is the basket with all those shells and rocks.

    Your place Screams Sharon

  3. Thanks Paula. It feels so much like home already. I just adore it. It has changed all my fears and anxieties about living on my own.

  4. Gail;
    It's starting to feel like it too. Once I get a sofa and can kick back on it and finish writing my book--it'll be the best home ever!

  5. Looking very cool, love the fireplace and that door to the patio. I saw at "Target" (imagine that! LOL!) curtains that are lined with this special fabric that is supposed to insulate and also BLOCK OUT light. That might be an idea! If it was me, I'd get a color (maybe turquiose) and then some patterned throw pillows with the same color scheme for the sofa.
    Oooooooooooooor, maybe go more Bohemian! More Gypsy! I see you with more COLOR to fit your VIBRANT personality.
    Or maybe not..I can't help it,
    Sorreeeeeeeee! I just love home decorating!!!!

  6. Cindi, I love it too. I'd love to do the place total boho like in the movie "Along Came Polly" but I'm also an eco-weenie Virgo, so I like to own the bare minimum and what I have has to be justified as terribly symbolic and then I like everything to have a place and be out of sight. I love organizer stores. I'm a freak. I just am able to be more efficient and creative when there's no clutter around me. I do like the curtain idea and I know I'll want it this winter when the sun is in the southern sky where my bank of windows is. The bedroom--I wish I could paint the arcadia doors black. I think I've come up with a solution. It will take a bit of work but I can still enjoy the light and view but have pitch dark. If I could, I'd live in a cold damp black cave at night. My colors are always yellow, orange, green and browns--that's my wardrobe and home.

  8. Cindi;
    I actually have a bedroom and master bath that are dark chocolate and pale turquoise. The combo is so nice. Of course, living in AZ, the sky is so much turquoise it can get overwhelming, but I have gone through my phases. I just got out of a blue and green combo phase and am now in an orange and green phase. Basically, if it's a color in autumn, I'm all over it. I would so love to see your place. I know you enjoy the flea market like I do. We'd have quite a day together!
