Injury

Just in case you wonder why I'm not typing much or at all the next day or two, I was sawing back tree limbs today and the jagged tooth saw bounced and cut deeply into my thumb joint. It's splinted up now, so I'm going to let it rest and heal. I'll still be reading your stuff. I have a post ready to put on that I might post since it won't take any typing.

  5. Thank ya'all for your sweetness. you're such dear friends. Libby, you have good ears--Yes, I did. I cursed at myself for putting my hand in a bad spot. I know better! Well, I did manage to plant a pink grapefruit tree and a tangerine tree before that,so I got something done on my day off. My boss is letting me have tomorrow off (I type for a living as a medical transcriptionist). How I type with a splint on, I don't know. I'm trying to do it now and it's hilarious. My company makes you either take PTO in these situations (I earn one day off every 3 months!) or make up the hours I missed within the next 7 days so I'd be typing 2 extra hours every day to make it up while I'm healing. I won't even say what I went through during my Achilles tendon repair--I almost quit. I want to quit. When I got the cut and was gushing blood,my first thought wasn't hope it's okay--it was -- damn! I can't miss work! I need to quit my job. I just do it because I'm terrified of not having a job should something go wrong. I'm highly independent. I think I'm going to work vigorously on getting published and start an ETSY business--something with psychometry and objects from abandoned sites fashioned with crystals that empower the emotion the carry--not sure yet, but something like that, maybe something steampunk... I'll let you know if it gets going. I want to quit before my 15th anniversary in February. This injury reminded me that I can't avoid how much I hate the sweatshop I work for and if I'm going to go crippled typing, it'll be for my fictional work and this awesomely fun blog! The motto for my entire life must be...when something bad happens, turn your path and there is sunshine. I should thank the saw, I do believe.
