It's that time of year again when Debe Branning from MVD Ghostchasers and I are working on the upcoming Cemetery Crawl event. It's based on "The Amazing Race" as a kind of road rally that has teams traveling the backroads of Arizona and visiting dozens of cemeteries and learning about history and ghost hunting while competing for prizes.
Debe wrote a fantastic article about our very first one that started the whole yearly event. You can find it here.
It sounds like a blast. I love watching Amazing Race and often wonder if I could do it. It's too bad that the date is on mine and my hubby's 28th wedding anniversary. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary--hubby and I just had our 25th recently. They have people filming in each car and hopefully we'll manage to edit into something that can go on YouTube. Last year, we had a documentary crew that followed it, but they never managed to get it done. I'm sure Debe will be writing articles following how it turned out. This year I'm not attending, but I'm going to be at the finishing line to get them through the last course. It's really very hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds totally cool Autumnforest!! BTW congratulations of your 25th anniversary!! also congrats to Julie on her 28th!! Those are very long times to be married in this day and age-and I am so happy that you seem to be very happy in your marriage. My mom and dad had their 51st in December 08 -so that is pretty rare also-I hope you and Julie both live to see many many more happy anniversaries in your lives! best as always!!
ReplyDeleteHey Autumn-was just about to shut off puter for the night and caught your comment-thanks so much-that is a really great idea and I just might do it in the future-the one person on Nostradamus that I "trust" the most as far as that he believes what he says -and he himself seems to have some psychic sense and correctly predicted all of the presidential elections for more than 30 years I think (except for 2000 -and maybe he messed up on 2008 by staying with Hillary-will have to check) is a man named John Hogue-I used to be very familiar with Cayce's work-in the intervening years I may have forgotten a lot of stuff-but he absolutely believed in his heart that he was doing good for people-and i tend to agree as he seemed to be able to heal so many-either way a great idea and thanks again!!
ReplyDeleteHey Devin;
ReplyDeleteYeah, this summer hubby and I celebrate 30 years together--we started dating when I was 16 and he was 17. I would look forward to reading about Nostradamus. I really love Cayce because when I read about him, I realize the way he went about getting info was very similar to how I access information. Whether that's akashic records or not, I'm not sure. It's kind of like a remote viewing/astral projection feeling. He was a big hero of mine when I was growing up in Virginia where he was highly respected. I'd like to learn more about him. I keep meaning to do more research. Glad this conversation reminded me of that.
What a fantastic idea!! I would love to do something like that here. What fun!
ReplyDeleteWhen we have the article out about the event next week, I'll post it on here. I'm a cemetery nut and Debe is an Amazing Race nut so together it makes for an interesting road trip for folks with lots of crazy detours and deeds they have to do and cemetery attendants standing by to make sure they finish their deeds before they can move on. When they're done, they've seen a lot of our quiet cemeteries on the side roads and learned a lot of history.
