I've shared some tragically abandoned sites in the past few posts, but the place you make your memories, have your dreams, work hard to obtain, spend your blood, sweat and tears in, is your home. To see them abandoned is like seeing the skeleton of a loved one.
Some were modest.
Some were grand.
A few have been abandoned a very long time -
Others, still have their charm
They are in various phases of decay and neglect -
Julie and I have photographed so many abandoned sites, especially in the Southwest, and it never stops amazing us what the sun and heat does to wood and how very hostile these sites appear, even when in the past they might have been quite cozy.
And, some abandoned homes have such good bones, you can imagine renovating them -
