Psychic: Someone Needs To Hear This Song

Upon occasion, I feel a psychic connection with my readers. I've been known to put up a song and lyrics when I know one of the readers needs to hear it. Just so you know your feelings are being heard and we all feel this way from time to time--here it is. Hope it helps!

Mad World Lyrics
Artist(Band):Gary Jules

All around me are familiar faces
worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very, mad world, mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very, mad world, mad world
Enlarge your world, mad world

  1. That was very kind of you to post that message. Hopefully whoever needs to see this, does!

Also, as familiar as I am with this song, I've never seen the video. It was cool that the people were coordinated enough to make those shapes!

  2. Justine--I love that video. I'm just quirky enough, that I'd love to join a group that does it just for the entertainment of folks in high rises--you know, put on a dancing message at 3 pm every day and the workers tune into the song and look down for a couple minute break. What a great world that would make, huh?

  3. That would make a great world! I think people would really look forward to 3 pm too! You could organize a flash mob and try this. I'm not sure how to find flash mob participants, though.

  4. Yeah. I love the flash mob thing. I'd love to do that-it's on my must-do list!

  5. What is with you lately? You are in my brain! Not only have I had this song in my head for about four days now, but I have had (another)crappy day and am totally feeling it!

  7. Ever since Tears For Fears 1st came out with the original tune in the Fall of '82 … a year a bout of hemalitic verdus streptococcus had nearly earlier that same year taken my life … this became an anthem of mine, personally. Then, years later, the cult film, Donnie Darko, about time-hopping & altering our lives & the lives of those around us through willful choices, came out. Gary Jules' remake gave it an undeniably more morose & Gothic flare. People who've not yet seen the film, which is a gem amidst the world of mindfuck cinema, do yourselves a favour & do add it to your Netflix™ queue. Thanks for the song & lyrics, Sharon. Now I have to send you a pic of me in my new Goth kilt ~ (•8-D

  8. Bror;
Donnie Darko was a classic. I am enthused at the possibility of seeing you in a kilt. I have a tendency to get giggly when I see men in cowboy outfits, Michael Myers masks and kilts. Now, if a man could wear the mask, a kilt, a cowboy hat and boots, I might just get giddy. Hm.... sounds like another photoshop op for me.
