Abandoned Amusement Parks! And What's Up Next on GHT?

There's something just wrong when amusement parks sit still with no noise, children, lights and screams. It's just wrong, kind of like a ventriloquist doll looking human and talking. It just is not natural...

I am hitting the road on Sunday with Julie to hit a ton of cemeteries and ghost towns, famous haunted spots too. I will be videotaping and making it feel like y'all are along on the trip with us. If you ever wanted to hit the AZ roads and see its haunts, you will get a backseat view. As well, we hope to try out some ideas in the room for testing out the ghosts. Also, the release of our book should be this coming week on Nook and Kindle and we will let you know. My own book "Was That a Ghost?" should be out in early March. I'm thrilled by this, as it is really based on the help I have been giving clients for years and lets you know if something you experienced was paranormal or not. Expect a few posts by Dale, no doubt. In fact, Dale the Doll is coming along on our road trip. In late February, you will be coming along with Julie and I two two vanished cities for our next book; Salton Sea and Desert Center. This spring and summer will be full of lots of new information in the world of the paranormal, new experiments and theories and hopefully a few surprises you didn't see coming. That's the GHT update!

DO NOT FORGET--tonight is Lonely on a Friday Night. Come on and comment back and forth and hang out. I am your hostess on-call all evening to join in the silliness.

  1. I am looking forward to the trip this Sunday/Monday and the ones to come. I will also have fun tormenting Dale (hey, he wanted to come with us, lol).

  2. Yeah, you know, he's sitting atop of my overnight case wearing his jacket. It's in the 50s/20s up there where we're going, so maybe it was a good thing I got him a coat. Now, to see if I own any long pants I can wear...

    Now me, I love cold, but I know that Julie is a native here and that's pretty cold for her. I'm one of those viking types who swims in water when it's in the 40s and wears shorts all the time, so I can take the cold. I say -- bring it on! The pussies around here wail when it's in the 60s. Oh brother! Give me a day with brisk winds, icy rain and in the 40s/50s and I'm in my heaven.

  6. I can't get last night's Brad Meltzer's Decoded Bohemian Grove out of my mind. Two of the cast were arrested for trespass.

  7. Barry;
    I do believe they were trying to sneak onto one of the most secretly guarded places since Area 51. Besides, Julie and I are going to legitimate abandoned places the public are encouraged to explore. When we aren't in such public spots, we are just adorable enough to look quite harmless and carrying cameras. We're hardly there to tag the places with spray paint and set up candles for a ceremony, a couple of middle-aged ladies. I also pack some pepper spray, just in case, though I'm 5'8" and pretty muscular, trained in Kung Fu, as well. I will guard my precious sister well.

  8. Hey sis, every since I started down the menopausal road and hot flashing more, I welcome the colder weather. I am glad that it will be chilly in Prescott.

  9. Sis; I must have been menopausal all my life because my hands and feet are always warm and I can't seem to get cold enough. Anything over 78 sucks. Yeah, so I live in a desert--what in the hell am I doing here? I'm glad I at least get to wear the sexy jacket I got from Victoria's Secret. I've waited all winter to be able to wear it. Even Dale thinks it's hot and he usually thinks human clothing is silly. (this from a doll who wears baby clothes)

  10. Believe it or not, I've actually been to Boblo Island when it was still an amusement park, back I was a kid. Rode my first roller coaster there.

    That would be so creepy to go back now, huh?

  12. It's amazing how something that used to be so happy can become so creepy.

    True. My greatest wish is to get a seat from a tilt-a-whirl or scrambler ride that is totally rusted out and have it in a garden to sit in. It think it would be neat to have old rusted amusement park pieces in a really creepy garden.

  14. seeing stuff like this reminds me of ghost hunters on the discovery channel. That show gives me the creeps whenever I watch it.

  16. Abandoned places are so freaken creepy. The pictures of the town near the Cherynoble disaster site are very unsettling, especially because everyone had to leave thier stuff, they didn't have time to take much at all.

  17. Another blogger did this topic a few months back, but with pictures instead. I love posts like these, they are haunting and make you think about the past.

    I think everyone loves the idea of a place filled with laughter that is empty. It's like empty churches, it seems strange and wrong.
