The Kandahar giant "legend" was widely spread on the Internet and without real names and details, it becomes just that - a legend. But, there may be ways to discern if this event ever happened.
In 2002, it was said US Army Special Forces were sent out to find a team that wasn't answering calls. They came upon a cave that had skeletal remains of humans, broken equipment, tattered uniforms, and looked like a grotesque cannabalistic attack on the missing unit.
From deep within the cave, emerged what was described as a human of immense proportions, 12-15 feet tall, muscular, wearing some kind of animal skins, with very long red hair and a prominent archaic brow ridge.
The monstrous feral man speared one of the army soldiers and held him up on the spike. The battalion then began to shoot at him with heavy rifle power. It took almost 30 seconds to fell the giant.
A Chinook helicopter arrived with unmarked men who proceeded to bag the body and lift it away to an unknown destination. The soldiers were forced to sign NDAs.
And so the legend goes.
What I do find interesting is the concept of a red-haired giant living in a cave and being cannabalistic. Sounds like the Lovelock Cave legends (use my search bar to find posts on that). In fact, aborigines have a legend of two women who lured a giant into a cave and burned the entrance, trapping him in and killing him with smoke.
Could such a being exist and be cannabilistic in a desert? Wouldn't the townsfolk notice missing people? Wouldn't there be legends of giants? Where does he get his food other than from wayward soldiers?
Hindu Kush is a most important mountain system in Kandahar and is an extension of the Himalayas. Interestingly, the cavern network and isolated regions make sense for a giant to exist undetected. Wildlife would be an easy take down for a hungry mammoth and the Himalayans offer lots of ability to not be seen by people but have plenty of yaks and musk deer.
There are some videos on YouTube of an interview with one of the supposed search party that came upon the massacre and the fight against the giant. This anonymous hooded man is either weaving a great yarn or unburdening himself from a secret so dark, it's hard to live normally.
It would seem any family member who lost an army soldier relative in 2002 in Afghanistan might want to get more details on the "missing" status or the "dead" status to see if there is a coverup. After all, these men had families back home.
Things to consider -
I think the hardest part of this tale for me isn't the cannabilistic red-haired giant in a cave, but the Chinook that toted the heavy cargo away during a war.
We do know that Afghanistan is littered with caverns/caves and tunnels.
There is another legend involving cannabalistic giants with red hair - Lovelock Cave.
Is this how the military would handle it? Sounds like it.
Should a whistleblower come forward and public demands records from the Pentagon, then perhaps we can finally know.
Some folks might say that this creature was one of the nephilim, born from human females and angels mating, and the target of the great flood. Could such an aberration occur? It would take something otherworldly to mate an angel with a female, but we do know from disparate species mating that the one with dominant traits wins out on the size of the creature.
A male lion mating with a female tiger creates a liger, something bigger than either of the two parents because of the male lion's dominant genes.
Supposing an angelic could mate with a female human, the product would likely be bigger than the principals. It also may be sterile which poses a problem with a bloodline existing. However, putting something angelic into the equation could mean eternal life for the creature or no sterile boundaries. If the flood wiped out the giants, those living in high altitude caves like the Himalayas may have remained.
That is my greatest stretch in explaining their potential existence.
I absolutely believe in redhaired giants of old. Today? Well, aren't we often finding extinct creatures that still roam the earth in hidden locations?
