Review: "Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch" S5 E2 "The Gold Ledger"

This episode is entitled "The Gold Ledger" and aired on 06/25/2025.

Tonight, the episode began with the intruder on the ranch that Charlie and Duane saw on their security cameras. The intruder dg up a long cyliner from the ground and took it away. I had guessed it was a seismic meter to see if the ranch team was blasting or drilling.

Duane and Charlie called the police and then chased him down. T hey found his vehicle lights on and got out with gun to approach. They found someone had put lights on a blockade post to fool them into thinking it was a car. Chad met them going the other direction and said he didn't see anyone that direction either.

Duane and Charlie looked at he shovel and the hole the cylinder was taken from. They saw the guy's car on a camera as it exited the rear of the property. No tags, no license plate. This was a pro.

The deputy then arrived. They reported what was on the camera. The man in the SUV had cut the front gate, wore a bulletproof vest, and no tags or license on his new SUV. Duane reiterated it was not their equipment, they are tired of this BS. (God love and protect Duane). Charlie promised the police a copy of the security camera. Duane, in character, said he would find them.

The team met up to review the footage and discuss. They had 90 days of video with the cameras everywhere. This thing that was in the ground had to be there more than 90 days.

Chad tells about following the path of the underground water tunnel and the finding of the arrow marker and the turtle rock formation. The turtle's head points to treasure, but if the head is removed, the treasure was taken. This turtle marker has a head still pointing.

Chad and Josh follow the turtle head pointer and find more things in the rocks including a bear's head carved into the rock. It is part of a crumbled rock stack hiding a void. Chad and Josh send a camera down to see if it's a ventilation shaft from long ago when people lived down there.

Chad and Josh reviewed the team the things they found. It is extremely promising. Chad returned with Eric to look at the bear cave area. Chad crawled in with great enthusiasm and found a stone with tally marks on it that look like rectangles. Ther are 17 in first row, 12 in the next row, and 6 in the last row.

The hole Chad climbed into with the tally marks on the rock was a dead end, but the find was significant!

James, and Josh joined Eric and Chad and showed them the stone with the tally marks.

James believed it was an indigenous. Josh saw it as a bouillon storing tally. James said this didn't look like usual Aztec pictograms, but a tally marker, a receipt.

Treasure hunter Josh is working with Duane to find more clues. They find arrowheads along their path in one area. They found a perfect defensive area to make arrowheads. They found a rock spire and lots of arrowheads, showing a protected area.

The men are now focused on an entrance into the cavern. Previews of next week shows some extensive outsider poachers monitoring the site.

This was a great episode and thank goodness what we see is one year ahead of actual finds. I think we all hope the poachers go to hell. Ollingers and team succeed!
