Name Our Book!

Okay ya’all. Today, I’m taking a poll as well as your own ideas…

Julie from Above-The-Norm has agreed to work with me on the haunted formula, putting it into book form. Some of you will recall last summer I spent the entire summer studying 50 haunted places to find their similar features and therefore coming up with a way to rate the possibility of a place being haunted by the features it possesses. I decided to add some more onto the formula that I have discovered in the mean time and the name “The Haunted Formula” started to sound too much like it would need to be mathematically based, so I’ve got a list of potential titles for the book and would love your input on what sounds ideal. I would also love your own ideas if you have some better names. Thanks in advance! If research goes well, we should be able to have a copy ready for the publisher by the end of summer (fingers crossed).

    Thanks so much! Your input will definitely be taken into consideration. It's nice to get feedback. I want to be sure the title properly gives people the idea of what they're getting.

  4. I think I prefer "The World's Best Places to see Blood Oozing from the Walls".... :)

    After seeing the complete list together, my eye is caught the most by "The Haunted Formula". I still like the idea of the sub-title, but maybe "DNA of Haunted Locations"?

  8. I like The Haunted Formula: DNA of Hauntings as well. It's a term you use already, and I think it sounds like it describes what you are talking about. An alternative sub-title might be something to the effect of 'An analysis of the features of haunted places', 'An analysis of the common aspects of haunted locations'.

  9. Wow - I kind of like "The DNA of Hauntings" it does sound very scientific - but (at least if I have understood anything you and Julie and many of the other ghosthunters have tried to do -you are trying to get the field to be more open actual scientific methods - I cant wait to read the book !!!!!!!!!

  10. Jeff;
    I think you have a real feel for the book and where we're going with it--thanks for the suggestion!

    Baby Bror;
    Yeah, the book has really taken on a lot of new aspects including leylines and the pineal gland/magnetism. So many ways to go with this and I'm thrilled. The final chapter will actually tie together all the features into a place we've chosen as the most super haunted site based on the characteristics....

  12. Aw man, I really liked your "The Haunted Formula" title, but I can see why you might want to change it. Therefor, after reading your explanation, my vote is for "The Haunted Formula: DNA of Hauntings."

    Your posts last year on that were awesome and fresh. Your book will be absolutely amazing. (Regardless of what title you end up going with.)

    Thanks!

    Court;
    Thanks! Yeah, we will have much to mull over now. I can't wait to finish gathering info because the actual writing of it will be fun and easy since I know all this backwards and forwards.

  14. I like the Alchemy of Hauntings. I don't know if I'd use science in the title at all unless you or Julie has a degree in some branch of parapsychology. Not that I don't think you know your stuff, but without a degree, a title that alludes to science in some way might come under criticism.

    That is the very reason I decide to toss out a bunch of names. The problem I had with haunted formula was that at some point, it has to culminate in a mathematical equation and that's not where I wanted the book to go. I want it to be more about...how many tally marks does your site have? There are this (blank)many features and if you have all of them, you are super haunted, if you have 3/4 of them you are haunted, if you have half of them you could become haunted but maybe are not yet and less than that and you likely will never be haunted... It's a set of natural conditions that come together to make a haunting besides just an event, so alchemy does sound good but a little new-age, I know.
