Outdoor Thrills and Chills This Summer!

Sometimes, the biggest scares outdoors involve chills and thrills of the daredevil variety.

There are some pretty inventive ways to get your scare on. Let's look at some places with insane challenges.

FLORIDA ROLLERCOASTER ZIPLINE

The ultimate place to experience this is Forever Florida park (LINK) where they provide some hair-raising zipline rollercoasters, horseback adventures, wild coach adventures, the Panther Pounce and the Peregrine Plunge.

The independently wealthy might wish to have their own rollercoaster zipline for their yard. What a way to get from the bar to the bathroom - yikes!  Here's a company that specializes in it. (LINK)

Indiana Water Fun

Holiday World and Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana is considered one of the better water parks in the world.

It has a river ride, wave pool, a water bowl ride, rollercoaster, water flume rides, all form of water slides, lagoons, rides, canoes, rafts, you name it!

Missouri Treehouse Cabins

If you're not into speed, you might enjoy a treehouse cabin in a lovely location. Missouri Treehouse Cabins has a great array to choose from (LINK). You wouldn't be lacking for amenities in these gorgeous cabins in this amazing location. You can cook, soak, hike, dream happily in peace and quiet. It may not be Adrenalin-producing, but it would be a thrill!

Storm Chasing!

Did you ever want to jump into an SUV and chase a storm? There are actually tours for this! Oh yes! Storm Chasing Adventure Tours offers openings.

White Water Rafting in Idaho

I suspect this is not how Lewis and Clark did it, but man if you want some thrills, this Lochsa River Rafting looks like a blast!

Sky-Diving

How about sky diving over Lake TahoeNow, there's the ultimate thrill!

Urban Exploration

There are tons of abandoned places to investigate, most of them in old mining towns. One of the best preserved is Bodie, California.

Old West Thrills

Nothing beats Tombstone, Arizona for Old West feel and fun. You can ride a stagecoach, watch the Earps shoot it out at OK Corral, and drink some beers at Big-Nosed Kate's Saloon.

Ghost Tours

If your idea of thrills is chills, then a ghost tour is called for. Most major cities have them, but nobody does ghost tours like New Orleans, LA.  You can take tours of vampire places, cemeteries, places with dark histories, and even join a ghost hunt. French Quarter Phantoms does a nice job of giving you some variety.

No matter how you get your thrills and chills this coming warm season, be sure to pick something for your needs, whether it's historic tours, ghost tours, bungee jumping, rafting, rollercoasters, ziplines, or treehouses.
