Exciting Scented-Haunt Tour in LA!

Phansot_title

On October 3rd, 2015, join us for a paranormal party and a self-guided car tour of LA’s aromatic hauntings.

Drawing from GHOULA’s extensive research into haunted Los Angeles, Phantosmia is a self-guided tour of the city’s famous and not-so-famous haunts – notable for their paranormal disturbances uniquely driven by scent.

From Peg Entwistle’s sweet gardenia perfume floating inexplicably around the Hollywood sign to the phantom smell of Rudolph Valentino’s horse stables lingering at the former site of Falcon’s Lair, these ghost smells are sensorial reminders of the lurid, turbulent and baroque history of this City of Angels; where dreamers come to be reborn and – just as often – die terrible, lonely and often painful deaths.

Join us for a kick-off party to have a drink (bring a designated driver!) and share real Los Angeles ghost stories with GHOULA’s founder Richard Carradine. Also, you will be able to meet the members of the Smelly Vials Perfume Club – IAO’s own in-house punk rock perfume-making society.

We’re also offering some things for you to purchase, in advance or at the kick-off party (supplies allowing)

– A kit of thirteen haunted scent samples in 3ml spray vials. The kit includes a limited-edition printed guide with a map to each location, history of the space and a collection of stories related to the hauntings – all this designed by Micah Hahn and printed on the finest newsprint LA can offer. (cost: $60.00)
– Just the map: The afore-mentioned beautiful limited-edition fold out map – on its own – without the scents. (cost: $5.00)
– Nothing at all: You can also just come for the stories, and take notes on the locations on your smart phones. (cost: nada)

After the kick-off party, participants are invited to take off in private cars, carpool, or float over to each location to experience the space – with their haunted smell kit in hand, or perhaps even with an actual ghost smell or two!

Hey, this is LA, and sometimes dreams actually do come true. Someone should have told poor old Peg…
