Most Freaking Fun With Your Clothes On!

I've probably mentioned it on here before. I have a deep love for MST 3000 and mocking bad movies. I also have a real soft spot for SyFy Original movies because they're simply so bad they're good! Case in point; "Ice Spiders," "Dinocroc Vs Supergator," and "Abominable." So, when I heard that "Sharktopus" was coming out tonight, I nearly burst a seam with excitement! It's like a train wreck, you can't look away from. Just look at these preview clips and see if I'm wrong. Please, SyFy, hire me to do your original movies, I have some ideas that would drive the viewers crazed waiting for Saturday night.

  1. I wish I had a tolerance for these movies because some of them look entertaining, but unfortunately I don't. Every once in a while I can bring myself to watch one of these cheesy killer animal/eco-terror movies, but I have to be in a mood to watch them.

Didn't DINOSHARK just come out a couple of months ago? I wonder what SyFy is going to crossbreed with a shark next?

  2. In looking at those graphics (Sporkupine, indeed!), one might have the notion that this venture is a bit more tongue-in-cheek - even outright comedic - than most SyFy offerings. Unfortunately, I fear this is just a clever marketing gambit. They have in recent times shifted gears toward embracing these horrid offerings as if that was their intent all along. I think they're frosting the turd. I just don't get why they keep producing these films. It can't be budget, because some great movies have had small budgets (Dog Soldiers). God bless ya, A. But if I don't see two robots and a wise-ass in silhouette down below, I doubt I will be tuning in. :-D

  3. You guys need to get into the spirit of it. It's like Ghost Adventures. They started out acting all serious and then people just ridiculed the hell out of them, so now they take themselves lightly and mock themselves before we can. SyFy got smart and mocks its own offerings. It's just too delightful. I look at them as comedies, definitely not as horror. I say we come up with a list of new movie combinations for them; "Ratman," "Scorpioxen," "Poodlefish."

  5. Cooperncus;
Saturday nights it's a gold mine for MST 3000'ing. I'm half tempted to live commenting on here during one of the movies with other watchers.

  6. Commenting will make the movie watching even crazier. Like your ideas btw. You have creative mind.

  7. Echo, sweetie, don't know if it's a creative mind or total dementia, but I do love playing with movies. I'm thinking of doing some short MST 3000s from my apartment and videotaping me watching a really bad scene from a horror movie, throwing popcorn at the screen and ridiculing it. I will do that as soon as the ex pays out and I can get a TV and sofa!

  8. Cool. That's what exes are for:)

  9. Him having to pay me is the most attention he's given me in decades. Yeah, I guess that's the part of their anatomy that gives them notice, their wallets....

  10. We had a dog that loved to tear the stuffing out of her toys. We ended up sewing two of them together to create - "Croctopus". Sounds like that one might be right up SyFy's alley.

As a family we love "Good Bad Movie Night", watching such features as "Kung Pow, Enter the Fist" or "Dodgeball" or
    mystery Men"...the list goes on.

  12. I heard that our man Josh Gates was going to host the movie's debut. Could be fun...

  13. Yeah, I saw a commercial last night where he made a joke about it.

  14. I get a good laugh out of the corney movies. Like so many people I'll make a remark about seeing the string holding up the rubber bat; but I'll laugh my ass off if someone tied a bow in that string.

Some movies are what I call mock-fi because they are bad on purpose.

Bit for a good time you need to sit back and laugh at those old Troma produced movies. Whats that sroma it must be Troma.

  15. LMAO! I ALMOST started watching Sharktopus! But decided on Two and a Half Men instead. I know it's completely crazy, but I will NOT watch scary movies alone! I'm such a chicken shit! LOL

  16. Sharktopus is spectacular. Eric Roberts is a true thespian.

You know how they got in trouble for showing an entire movie? Now, they get around it by doing Rifttraks. You can get them online and listen to them as you watch the movie. They do them for new release movies too like "Twilight" (my favorite one they did) and they're fantastic!
