Navajo Rangers

Policing in the Four Corners area of the Southwest is not your usual city peacekeeping. This harsh and barren land is not high in crime, so much as high in unusual happenings.

These Rangers have a lot of duties from protecting resources, natural and historical sites, as well as assisting travelers. They have many roles and they proudly perform them for this tribal nation.

Often, these public servants are called in for unusual cases such as UFO sightings, Bigfoot encounters, ghostly activity, and even dreaded skin-walkers ("yee naaldooshii"). These are bad witches that perform dark magic to disguise as an animal that will stalk and torment.

The Rangers are trained to respond with respect and give a full investigation, even if the "bad guy" is something unexplained. It's this form of respect that sets and example for all protectors called into action when the subject is possibly not of this world.

It is extremely likely that these brave individuals have themselves witnessed strange things in the sky, missing time, ghostly shenanigans, and Bigfoot lurking in their area.

I was privileged to listen to some Rangers speak at MUFON meeting in Phoenix years ago. They were extremely open about cases that would terrify most peacekeepers. Some investigations they witnessed the impossible, coins dropping from a ceiling, a skin-walker stalking, and even objects in the sky, both in the line of duty as well as during off-hours.

The Four Corners area is a strange mecca for the unexplained. It's actually hard to imagine not having activity there.

A Navajo Ranger’s chilling and clear-eyed memoir of his investigations into bizarre cases of the paranormal and unexplained over the course of his illustrious career serving the Navajo Nation.
