Lonely on a Friday Night: Join Us!

Hey, it's that time again. I'm hanging out and totally bored and alone, so if you are too, join me. We can joke around and talk any subject. Come and go as you please. I'll know if you arrive and leave a message. No, not my psychic skills, email notices...

Comments

  1. So... Group interviews suck, and people never call you back to let you know even if you didn't get the job, even though they say they'll call either way.
But I'm going to the Renn fest again tomorrow... And will probably bring like... 7 gallons of water so I don't die from dehydration.

  2. I'm thrilled you're going. That is just what you need! God, I would hate to be looking for a job now. I despise mine, but I've been doing it 16 years and I work from home, so I can't complain except that I make 1/3 of what I used to make because of changes in the industry. I hope you get some luck with the interviews. You are such a bright and beautiful young woman, they should scoop you up.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I'm hoping so but everyone else just seems to have so much more experience than I do.
I tried to get a belly dance gig and they said "oh we'll call you no matter what" - Nothing.
Just went for an interview with coach, Lol I wanted to walk out half way through the interview and congratulate the other girl who was there for an interview.
Lol so yeah, Tomorrow will be great. I need to run around and be all barbarian like as a celt.

  4. Yes, let your pagan spirit free! It sounds like a blast. I'm pulling down 10-hour days on top of everything else, but it's worth it because I'm going to get 7 days in a row off, something I haven't done since....the mid 90s, I believe!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Woo! That's awesome :)
    So how have things been?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Great. Well, busy. I'm basically consumed by writing, publishing, blogging and work. There's no time for anything else, but my honey is coming to be with me for my vacation, so you can imagine that make everything better.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Just popping in to say "Hi!" to my favorite ghost hunter! :)

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hey Eric. Some day, we'll make you stop and chat.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Sometimes being busy is the best though. I'd love to be busy. Lol!
Hope you have a nice vacation though. Sounds nice :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yeah. I don't know how to relax anymore. I still need to enjoy my patio and the 70s temps outside, but I don't. It's just too lonely when you live alone. There's no one to share it with. You just sit there and stare, though I do love feeding the bunnies and prarie dogs that come right up to my patio. I just have been a whirlwind since I moved in here in early September. Making up for lost time being able to do what I want without being a servant. I am going to drink cold beers, float in the pool, do some bbq'ing (I'm vegetarian but we bbq too) and just enjoy myself doing nothing but bumming around.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Do you ever try working out on your patio? I'd so do that if I had a working lap top. take that up to the pool and lay in the sun.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm lucky the pool is only about 100 feet from my apartment and tucked into the desert preserve and the jacuzzi is very private. No one uses them so it's very nice. There's a gym too but I hate it--big picture windows. I am a southern gal, we do not like to be looked at while we work out. I have an elliptical machine and I do hip hop dance, so I do pretty good. I just got a basketball because I live next to a park and I adore shooting baskets to let off steam.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That's the plus side about the Hotel we're staying in. No one uses the fitness center (all 3 pieces of equipment...) and there's hardly anyone at the pool except for on the weekends. so it works out

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm sure your weather is probably nice now. Ours is in the mid to upper 70s which is cooler than it was, so I'm not complaining. When will your home be all repaired?

    ReplyDelete
  15. The weathers nice, the Pollen isn't. Plant sperm is KILLING my allergies. >.<
I have absolutely no clue when my house will be repaired. >.< They fixed the drywall, and then they messed up the paint. >.< So now they have to paint AGAIN... I unno. I'm just going nuts.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You poor lamb. I always hate spring because it's gorgeous here, but I'm so ill with allergies. Never had them until I moved to the west--strange plants! They need to cure it by now! I feel for you on the house displacement shit. That is one big hot mess. I hope they get it together so you can be comfy at home again. You have enough on your plate, sweetie.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh god It's so miserable. Lol My throat is constantly in pain, My sinuses aren't Warming and Moisturizing the air that I breath in. It's iffy to breath. And I'm blowing blood out my nose. Lol Ugh!
And yeah I really hope they get moving. It's actually affecting my grades, because I can't study in this room. Lead foot is upstairs, loud mouth is next door, We had a college men's baseball team here (none of them were cute so it really sucked. Plus they were from Tennessee, In the Bible Belt. So they were a no go). Bike night is every wednesday night. Lol It's such a trip here. My poor face can't handle the stress I'm going through. >.<

    ReplyDelete
  18. That really sucks! Jeez, and no cute dudes--ugh! Have you tried using a neti pot for your sinuses? I use it all springtime so I can survive. It is a miracle because it washes the pollen out of the sinuses.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have absolutely no clue what a Neti Pot is. Lol I've tried Zyrtec, Allegra, Dayquil/Nyquil, And a Saline Nasal Spray. None seem to work. But I've grown to love hot showers even more. Oh, and the hot tub. Even if it is 85 degrees out. Lol!

    ReplyDelete
  20. It's not fun, but you can find instructions online easily. You basically take a small tea pot and put warm saltwater in it and you lean over a sink with one nostril to the ceiling, the other to the sink. You breathe out of your mouth while you pour the water in the top nostril and it comes out the bottom. Blow your nose. Now, do the other nostril. It is a dream. Feels like I have no allergies at all if I do it twice a day during tree pollen season. I have a hole between my sinus and eye so it's funny, water comes out of the corner of my eye. If I blow my nose, it comes out of the corner of my eye. If pollen irritates my sinus, my eye will water horribly until I have to close it while tears run down my face. I've had to pull over in my car because of it before. Nasty!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Lol I'll see if that works. Have to find a teapot that isn't expensive then. Hotel rooms lack tea pots. I wonder if they have 'em in London hotels. Hmmmmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Seriously, I've done it with a papercup and just forked the edge of it so it would pour like a teapot.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ohhh. Lol see I'm so not with it that I didn't realize you could use a paper cup. Lmfao! Derrrr me!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Some people use a special pot with a long narrow spout, but I use a little tea pot that makes 1-cup tea sizes. It's going to feel weird the first time because it's kind of like getting water up your nose in the pool, but you breathe through your mouth, so it's fine. Then, blow your nose and do the other side and blow your nose again and in about 5 minutes, you're going to feel strangely wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeah. It's ideal if you put a couple shakes of salt in it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi everyone. Not sure how long I will be here, just wanted to say hi.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hey sis;
    Watching old GA episodes?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Getting ready to watch "Who Do You Think You Are" with Steve Buscemi.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'll have to see. I heard that GA has a new episode on the 8th-the night you're sleeping over. We'll have to see it and do lonely night side by side. Haha

    ReplyDelete
  30. So, I didn't get around to trying the water bit.... It involves walking up to the front desk and getting a paper cup up there and when I was about to do that, a photographer messaged me, so we've been discussing a shoot.
We're going for Glowsticks at night. It'll be fun. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh how cool! I am a glowstick freak. I'm a cheap date. My favorite night out? A drive-in or a cheesy roadside carnival and my favorite prize--a glowstick. I'm such a weirdo. Well, when you get able to do the water trick, you will be shocked. If you do it morning and night every day, within about 3 days you'll feel like you have no allergies. It's amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha yeah. It's always good to be easily amused. We were originally going to do it with Belly Dance costumes, but I think he said that covers a little too much (We're wrapping them around my ankles and stuff, so it needs to be visible) So we also have a dress, and then A Bathing suit, and maybe wrap it around everywhere. Should be fun. :) And then I have another Belly Dance photoshoot on Thursday. And then I'm working with a photographer who shoots in B&W film. Have a bunch planned with him. I'm excited about it all. :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh, I want to see the pics. Will you show them on your blog?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Most definitely! Once I get 'em back. So definitely by next Friday I should have some photos up there.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yahoo! I'm excited for you. I'm sooooo very proud of you. I remember when I first started reading your blog. You seemed lost and now you have such direction. You are making things happen and not relinquishing control of your life. You are a remarkable young woman. I can't even imagine what you'll be like at 30, 35, 40, 45....

    ReplyDelete
  36. Soraya, that sounds great, congrats! I will keep an eye on your blog for the pictures.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey sis, check out HaB site. I might be narrowing on the look.

    ReplyDelete
  38. By golly, you are getting there. I like the colors better than lavendar.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yeah. I had an Easter Egg moment there and felt like I was in the Legally Blond movie series, so I backed off.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I hate that when that happens, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My problem, which I ran into when I used to paint, is that I have no idea what I want, I only know what doesn't work. So, I go through everything that doesn't work until something clicks. It's ass backwards, but it works.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Haha I know, Go figure! Although I have been a little discouraged lately. EVERYTHING I've been doing lately... It's kind of pushed me over and shoved my nose in dirt. This entire week has been failure and disappointment. From bombing tests, to not getting the belly dance gig I've wanted since I was 14, to failed job interviews... It's been a rough week when it's put on top of everything else, and then having a friend totally back out on you for everything... So I'm trying REALLY hard to keep my head up. It's difficult but... At least I have a fun photoshoot to look forward to. Next week will be better. :)

@Adsila: I have some other interesting photo's up on my website that I made. It's linked back in a few posts a little back. The photographer I'm doing the Glowstick shoot with also turned me into a ghost. They turned out pretty interesting :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. You know, I like your attitude. I have to admit that I have no idea what I'm doing now, a little of this and a little of that, but I just work hard, diligently and I know that at some point, a little bit snowballs into a lot. I have no idea how it all works out in the end, but I just keep working towards my skill set, my ambitions and passions and do it from my heart and mind and I know that it works out in the end. I'm a psychic, but even I don't want to know how it turns out. Each day is an interesting set of to-do's and a lot of it dead ends, but then because I did that, I got a skill or made a connection and it changes everything else even though it wasn't a through-way.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yeah I think that's the only positive that came out of the Belly Dance Audition. I met two other belly dancers who were pretty awesome. They were crazy friendly and supportive. And way too kind. Lol I bombed my solo. Hard. It was bad. And I'm not being modest. But they said it was good still. They could see that I actually had training, and they could see that I had nerves ALLLLL over my face. So yeah. It didn't help that the audition was in between my Anatomy and Physiology tests. X.x
I also have to keep in mind that Everything happens for a reason. It has to. It makes NO sense to me. At all. But for some reason, Even though I really wanted it, I wasn't meant to work as a belly dancer this summer.
But damnit I need a job! Lmfao!
It is kinda funny though. I already want the pictures back from the shoots I'm doing and I haven't even done the shoots yet. :-p

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sis, when I originally changed my blog it took me all day to get it to look the way I envisioned.

Soraya, I will check them out.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Haha. I know that feeling. I loved photographic work, but the problem was that I was good on the runway, so they tended to give me the runway jobs and then I had no cool pics. It was a bummer, but then I also enjoyed an audience. I don't think there's any one way for things to turn out and no one ideal direction. Like, you don't get the BD job, but maybe you end up doing something that makes you meet a guy you really click with. Life is weird that way. My gal pals sometimes talk about the soulmate thing with a guy and that there's one right guy for you out there. I don't know if that's true. I think you can be madly in love with hundreds of guys who are right for you in different ways. I have one friend who is afraid to make one single decision, thinking she'd miss Mr. Right. She keeps thinking somehow she screwed up her timeline and won't run into him. Oh brother!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yeah, the author's blog came together much better. This one seems to have found its groove, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Unfortunately for me, I won't get to do runway, even though I could rock heels any size and do all sorts of things in them, Including run. Lol I've impressed a few photographers with that. Running in 5 inch heels in dirt. :-p
I think with me, It's easier to get Artistic work like this, because It's not commercial. It's photographer's who are into an edgy look. I won't be published, But boy do I get to make amazing art.
    Actually... I take that back.
The photographer with the ghost/glowsticks is publishing his work as a book, And another photographer I'm working with, I'll be doing a Military Pin-up, and It's going to be a Calendar sent over to Afghanistan. Sooo that might work.

And Yeah, like I said, Things happen for a reason. It's being all sorts of strange. I'll get a job that something else will happen at. Maybe I'll make a good connection. Meet a guy. Make a life long friend, Learn a good life lesson. Something's in the works. It's just hidden from me. :-p
As for the Soulmate... I think it's possible to have more than one. Like you said, It's possible to fall madly in love with hundreds of guys that you fit with for multiple different reasons. Who knows. lol

    ReplyDelete
  49. Soraya; those ghost photos were incredible.... very good!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wow--a pinup gal for the military, huh? You should insist your email address be put on the calendar. You are finding your niche. We all do. It's funny how it all makes sense in the end and parts of yourself may go into hiding but they always come back. Like I have always been a farmer at heart, a real organic farmer type but living in the desert, I fought all the time to grow things and gave up. I thought I just outgrew that part of me, but it comes out all the time, like me becoming vegetarian and going to the local farmer's market on Sundays and now growing herbs on my patio. It's who I am, it always will be. You can't run it underground because it will cause anxiety. I've learned not to fight who I am. You sound like you embrace your musical side, your nerd side, your dancer side. It makes you have a content you rarely run into. You have to admit, you probably meet a lot of 2-dimensional folks out there with no hobbies, interests or passions. I call them hollow people. I could never live that way. You know those Easter Bunnys that are caramel filled--that's me, not the disappointing hollow shell that you bite into and go, "is this all there is???"

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hahahahahah! "Hottie Military Guys! Call meh!!!" :-p
lololololol That'd be great. I really do like modeling. It's just rough because I'm NOT 5'7... I'm NOT a size 0. I'm NOT you're typical gorgeous runway model that they all seem to have a certain look. I mean, I do think I'm pretty, but I'm not that type of pretty. It's different. And sometimes, depending on the photographer, it shows in photographers, and sometimes it doesn't. I've done a shoot with two different photographers who have really been able to get the true essence of me in the pictures. And those are the two who I'm willing to help out with everything, and vice versa. They've never completely bailed out on me, never said anything rude, and they like how I photograph and how professional I am with them. So it works for me. :)
Also, Lol I do have an issue with all my hobbies. I have so many hobbies and such, but when I meet other people that do have a hobby, It's hard to talk to them, even if it is somewhat related to one of mine.
For example: I play some video games. I'm a nerd when it comes to computers and such. However, I talk to other people who claim nerd and they're so much more in depth with computer games. They've done table top gaming, which I never got in to. They go to cons, which I would like to go to, but never have. They're obsessed with comic books... I only really watch the movies.
So I have a hard time with it sometimes. But So when they go on about all of their things I feel like that Hollow chocolate bunny. Even though in reality, I am like the caramel filled chocolate bunny. It's weird.

Anyways. I should probably head off. I took some Nyquil so I could attempt to sleep tonight without dying from coughing or a sore throat. :)
    Ciao for now!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Later, Soraya. You will find out what is your "look" and then you will know how to show it off best. Then, nothing will hold you back in photos.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm still on, if anyone wants to join.

    ReplyDelete
  54. watching Dateline but not sure how much longer I will be on

    ReplyDelete
  55. Haha. It's a little after 9, sis. You are too cute. I'm watching History Channel about aliens.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm going to put on a romantic comedy. I'm in the mood to remember what it's like to be a girl.

    ReplyDelete
  57. what movie do you have in mind?

    ReplyDelete
  58. My battery is about drained so I must charge it. I will talk with you tomorrow. Good nite...

    ReplyDelete
  59. G'night sis!
Anyone else who drops in, I'm still here.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Just thought I'd stop in on here and let you know I tried the Neti Pot. With Disastrous results. Lol When I went to blow my nose, Somehow the water went to my ear. And I had this GODAWFUL pain in my ear from it.

Also... Went to the Renn Fest today, and Apparantly I make a badass celtic warrior because I got so much male attention, and met a guy. :-D A pretty guy. With hair and a face and height, all of awesomeness. :)
And I ran into the one girl who tried out for the Belly Dance thing and she said she hasn't gotten a call either, and out of everyone who went, she would have gotten a part. So.... I might still stand a chance. :)
Things turned around, I just had to stick it out for a bit. :-D

    ReplyDelete
  61. Sweetie. Go onto YouTube. There are plenty of videos showing you the proper way to use a neti pot. You poor thing. I'm thrilllllllled you found some cute guys. I always tell my single friends---imagine the guy you want, what does he do on the weekends? Week nights? Daytimes??

    ReplyDelete
  62. Apparantly I squeezed my nostrils when I blew my nose, and that's what sent the water into my ear tubes. and now apparantly that results in a possible ear infection, which thrills me. haha! i've been bouncing on my side for a while now while tilting my head to the side.

And yeah, the one guy is definitely someone I think I could try to see how things work out. :) Hung out with him tonight, even after a long day of renn festing it, and it was nice :)
