It's time, my friends. Come on and check in, check out, chit chat, ponder the universe, joke around, share your day or your opinions of tonight's GA season finale. I'll be here the whole evening, so just say "howdy" and I'll know you're on. You may begin...

  1. What's big, dorky, and reeks of ectoplasm and pumpkin? Why, little ole me! Glad to be here, Autumn.

    ReplyDelete
  2. You sound like a perfect delight! Did you have a good week, HN?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh, just OK. I had midterms just last week. Some of them really gave me a headache. How 'bout you, Autumn?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Let's see... this week??? They all run into a blur. I am working very hard on the final little tweaks of the abandoned book. Should be popping it onto Kindle and Nook early February and then 4 more books this year! Yeah, well, I have a lot to say and apparently the blog isn't enough for all I want to express. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  5. Wow, Kindle and Nook, huh? Good for you. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: you really are a great writer. I've always wanted to write some sort of book, fiction or non-fiction. I'll really buckle down and write something one day, but with high school, I'll stick to short stories for now.

    ReplyDelete
  6. HN;
    I'd love to see you take your concepts for Halloween Haunts and put them into a series of chapters, you know, like a chapter for a carnival theme and a chapter for a cemetery theme, et cetera and telling how you can do it but written for a young adult point of view. You have a great blog to launch it from and are already an expert in that arena. You could even have fun things for each chapter like suggested horror movies to watch to get in the mood for the themes, like "Funhouse" for the carnival theme and such. Oh, I would really love that book!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I personally like to write my backstories from a "faux historical" point of view. Like I'm some character writing about events that happened long ago. The trick is to make them seem plausible. Too many haunt stories are cartoony, and always remind the patrons that this is FAKE, not an actual event. I like to mess with people's minds, and make them wonder...

    ReplyDelete
  8. I always have a twist ending in my stories. I don't like people to feel ripped off so they go "that sucked!" I like the kinds of twists where you thought you knew someone but you didn't really. I was working on one story about these woods and a phantom inside of them that always stole the women from this one family line. Everyone thought the women were cursed and some demon stole them never to be seen again. In the end, it's their salvation which no one would have expected, especially the heroine who is next to be taken.

  9. any good stories like Steampunk Palin in the works???

    ReplyDelete
  10. Barry;
    I'm going to go after you and beat you with a loaf of french bread! I was doing fine until you brought that image to mind! Argh!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I know what you mean. I once wrote a story (long lost) called Silver Screams. It was about a young couple who carelessly go into a very old, dingy theater left over from the 1930's, that only shows the sickest, bloodiest horror films conceived. In the end, the girl who loves horror films is captured by the owners of the theater, who decided to "punish" her and the audience for their "voyeurism". So they kill the girl on stage. However, I set it up to make the readers think her obnoxious horror-mocking boyfriend would die. One day, I'll re-write it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. No HalloweeNut write it NOW ! Don't wait !

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hello hello sis! Now I have an excuse to not do my school work! Well, at least for a hour or so!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I agree--write it HN! We want these stories!

    Sis;
    Hello, sweetie. I'm your diversion from school work, huh? Just blame it on me when you're back at school on Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Don't worry about the quality of your story, not everything can be a SHARKTOPUS !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. gnostalgia & Autumn: You guys rock!
    Oh, and gnostalgia - no more pics of a Steampunk Sarah Palin, please; you can't un-see crap like that!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wanna see Steampunk Palin vs Sharktopus ... come on Syfy cough it up !!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm thinking if they can bring back has-been 80s pop singers on SyFy and they can drag dead-heads like Kris onto GHI to try to sex it up, I should be getting my own freaking show. Oh, and the storyline with Palin versus Sharktopus--I know who's going to win. She can't have a rifle in the water. She's fair game.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, but at least I have a worthy cause of delaying my work! Ghost talk, crap talk, whatever talk! By the way....does anyone have any idea how to lessen the aggravation of RLS??? I have had a few episodes over the last few days and I want to crawl out of my skin! If I could cut my right leg off at the knee and beat the crap out of it on the ground I swear it would feel better! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  20. No Autumn in fiction anything is possible and President Steampunk Palin could rip the mighty sharktopus into fish bait.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hey, Autumn, what would you say are some your top 5 horror flicks? The reason I ask is I'll be trying to go to the video store tomorrow, and I need something to look for.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Restless legs? Yes, I do know that. I get it but very rarely because I adhere to these things:
    Nothing that makes you too groggy like cold medicines, Benadryl or booze near bedtime, especially if you stay up a long time after taking it. There's a window of about an hour after taking it where you're okay, but you stay awake too long and the restless legs get crazy. I also sleep with a long body pillow and wrap my legs around it and arms and it helps take pressure off the nerves.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Great question!
    30 Days of Night--best vampire ever!
    The Haunting (1963) best haunted house
    The Wolfman (new version)-best werewolf although The Howling was a classic
    Dead Silence (sorry, dude, but I really know it will be your favorite movie ever)
    Joy Ride/Disturbia (I love cat and mouse chase stories)
    Jeepers Creepers--all around scariest
    The Descent--super uber creepy cave monsters and terror

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hey Autumn can I be the pillow?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeah, the pillow is very lucky cause I sleep bare. I just imagine it's a yummy man. I'm a very bad girl.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks, Autumn! You truly are horror expert. I'd better get going. Have a good one, and thanks for the suggestions!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'll keep those things in mind! LOL Barry wants to be your pillow! How sweet! LOL...by the way..I still haven't seen to beau to get that picture taken! LOL Not sure about it though! And yeah, is everybody perfect or something??? How boring! Surly there are others out there who have little defects here and there!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Not a taker for birth defects! What's wrong with this world? We need our flaws!

    ReplyDelete
  29. yes to the pillow Bandhura and no to the defects --- or do I have one ?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am currently on a mission to find a place in SC or GA (for now) that when I have the money, me and the beau can take a long haunted weekend! There is a place in GA where I'd like to stay - a B&B called the 17-hundred 90. And while I'll the "equipment" we'll have is our recorder and cameras...what the hell!

    ReplyDelete
  31. T-Dear;
    If you have all of Georgia, I guess Atlanta would be the place to go, but if I could pick a southern spot, given my findings on haunted locals, I'd pick Charleston.

    ReplyDelete
  32. oooooohhh naughty videos !!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Barry;
    Are you assuming she is going to record her amorous delights or search for ghosts? Naughty videos, indeed! Hey, I'm watching my favorite comedy of all time "American Wedding." I am so easy to make laugh but this movie just kills me.It is ridiculous!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Actually, Savannah is the best place in GA...I'm also looking at Charleston, SC now. Savannah is considered the most haunted city in the US. It's a REALLY cool place. I have always felt very at home there. It's full of spiritual activity, you can just feel it! Atlanta is also on my list though!

    ReplyDelete
  35. American Wedding can't hold a candle to sharktopus !

    ReplyDelete
  36. That's a different kind of funny. I love Stickler and the scene with the dogs and the one with the gay bar dance-off and him eating shit and the groom shaving his balls and, well, all of it! I also love The Jerk, but this one pretty much makes me laugh the entire time.

    ReplyDelete
  37. T-Dear;
    They have haunted tours in both cities, right? Now, that would be fun. I would love to stay in a haunted B&B there. The cemeteries are to die for! My buddy went to the Charleston one and it had to be the best cemetery ever!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh yeah! Both cities have haunted tours. The thing that sucks is that the rooms that are known to be haunted in each facility, when you try to make reservations or at least look at the availability, they don't have the room numbers all the time. Just the accommodations available. UGH!!! Guess I'll have to break down and actually call when I'm ready and request specific rooms.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Those may be good movies Autumn but they are not Dinocroc vs. Supergator now thats a classic

    ReplyDelete
  40. T-Dear;
    Yes, book ahead. I'd love to stay at the Stanley Hotel but I would never stay there unless I could have the room with the noisy closet. I'd love to run some experiments on that place. It seems like it might just have good location and constructive to be haunted, but doesn't really have the death associated with it.

    Barry;
    Damn, those SyFy originals are ridiculous! It's like GA, they know they're ridiculous so they play it up. BTW, are you watching GA tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  41. GA tonight followed by Merlin

    ReplyDelete
  42. GA tonight followed by Merlin

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh yes, you like Merlin. I probably would have gotten hooked if I started at the beginning. I hate jumping into things when I have no clue what's up. GA looked very adequately amusing tonight. I can't believe they won't be back until the fall. Luckily, in another month GH starts again (did I say luckily? Could be a curse) but St. Patty's day DT starts again and I will jump with such joy!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. yes syfy show me your campy, corny, programs and I will embrace them all

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm waiting for SyFy to do something involving bikini clad beach girls who are dragged to an underwater city run by medieval people in really bad period costuming with megasharks surrounding their city.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The Carriage House in Charleston actually welcomes ghost enthusiasts. They even have a Ghost Tour Package. They let you decide if you want to stay in one of the two haunted rooms or you can pick another if you don't want to sleep with the spirits and have a restful stay! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  47. who worship sharktopus and plot repopulate their underwater city

    ReplyDelete
  48. T-Dear;
    I'm so jealous! I would love to go on a romantic B&B stay. My ultimate dream is to buy a very haunted location and turn it into a B&B. Be able to be hostess and cook for everyone and then have an organic garden and orchard for cooking and every night at 10 pm, brandy around the fireplace with ghost stories just before everyone has to go to bed--shivers!

    Barry--We need to write for SyFy!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sharon....That is what I too would LOVE to do! I'd even learn how to cook to be able to do something like that. Ok, well maybe not cook everything, I'll pick a course..probably dessert! LOL But then again, I REALLY would love an old Gothic Victorian Farm House with some land. Plenty of room for animals, garden, and room for a creative place all my own!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well of course it is! Friends who aren't a little off kilter are just....BORING!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I have the healthy gourmet organic cooking and hostessing thing down. Other than me liking to walk around the place naked, the guests should be pretty happy to stay. I would love to give them lots of opportunities to get into a gothic scary haunted mansion sort of mood, pull the big heavy velvet drapes closed, light the fire, warm the brandy, tell the stories in hushed whispers, leave them to explore abandoned and tattered out buildings and a bare-bones barn that's all bleached wood and rusted farm implements overhead with a bed in the middle of it where they can go in and lock the door and make out. Skinny dipping in the pond by torchlight. I'm such a romantic!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Fun fun fun! I'll find a place like that one day! Sooner than later! And yes, it must have a barn and other crazy creepy old out-buildings!

    ReplyDelete
  53. what if you like processed meats, beer, and bad scifi programs? Is there nothing for the common scifi nerd?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Howdy, just starting to watch GA. How is everyone?

    ReplyDelete
  55. B...there is ALWAYS room for the sci-fy nerd in my home! LOL I'll get you all "country-fied" and enjoying the peace and quiet...besides, my beau is such a city-guy..even more than I am a city-girl...so you'd probably get a kick out of just laughing at us! LOL Of course I'll have Sharon and Julie to visit for even more giggles! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  56. Barry;
    That's so sad. Yes, we need our SyFy. We just need them to make our kind of goofy spooky. Mutant sea creatures--not so cool. Go back to the old 50s SciFi movies like Them! and give us giant ants and shit and do it just as campy!

    Hey Sis!
    I'm going to go hiking tomorrow to look at Indian Petroglyphs with the UFO dude and Vin-Meister. I can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  57. God, T-Dear;
    You might need Depends. Julie and I get into some pretty weird and crazy shit. She lets me run loose like a dog without a leash and I'm pretty much humping and sniffing and marking my territory. Okay, maybe not--but I'm doing the girl on a field trip version.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hey Sistah! I'm jealous I can't watch GA her at home (my Nan's) she doesn't get that channel. Boo! So I've just text the beau to record it for me! Actually it's probably over now, but at least he has cable and can pull it back up again!

    ReplyDelete
  59. http://gnostalgia.wordpress.com/2011/01/21/ancient-aliens/

    ReplyDelete
  60. LOL I'm sure we'd have a blast! The Beau would get the biggest kick out of it!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ok, the new AT&T coverage commercial just came on...kinda creepy! An orange flowering vine growing all over the city covering everything!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Barry, some days I am in the mood to just watch those campy syfy movies.

    T-sis & S-sis, we will have to warn watch ever town the three of us will be invading that the three amigas are coming!

    ReplyDelete
  63. S-sis, have fun with Vins tomorrow and that yahoo UFO guide.

    ReplyDelete
  64. God, Barry! I see him on every ancient alien type show and he kills me. It's like he waits until the camera comes on and then runs his hand through his hair frantically. You have to work hard to look like that much of a douche.

    T-Dear and Sis;
    We would be better than the 3 amigos. We'd be more like those 3 witches in Hocus Pocus. Okay, maybe Thelma and Louise and Lucille Ball!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Big warning signs! Hello fair city of (insert name here)..we are coming! Beware! You can't stop us! And do you REALLY want to try? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  66. but he will never look as good as Steampunk Palin

    ReplyDelete
  67. Ok guys and sistahs! LOL I have procrastinated enough. I need to start working on homework. YUCK! I'll try to pop back on after a while! Hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I have a feeling that I will need to be wearing depends when the three of us are together... lots of laughing. Oh yeah, a good pair of running shoes too, right S-sis?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Pop on now and again and say howdy, Miss Tara...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Barry;
    I'm going to imagine you in Palin's Steampunk costume tonight before I go to sleep so I don't picture her! Hope you don't mind being a girlie subject of my dreams.

    Sis;
    Yes, I can't imagine adding T-Dear to the mix! It's hard enough to keep me from doing childish things at every turn. I still have yet to flash a passing car on a road trip, but I'm always the driver. I guess that's a good thing. Just my luck, I'd flash my boobs and then the car would get a flat.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I bring my own heat to steampunk

    ReplyDelete
  72. Some day, Barry, you have to get a picture of you in all the garb up on your blog. I am going to finish my costume and get a pic of me in it. I just ordered a pretty copper antique compass. I think it might work into a cool pin or necklace.

    ReplyDelete
  73. maybe you'll look at hot as Sarah

    ReplyDelete
  74. Barry;
    You are baiting me. I'm a lot hotter than Sarah because I'm not frozen between my thighs.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Steampunk Barry..... yeah!

    Sis, I can't wait to see what silly antic you'll have me do on our next trip. I look forward to it.

    ReplyDelete
  76. you never said if i could be your body pillow

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah, you just won't get me doing it while I drive--I have some principles!

    ReplyDelete
  78. GA did a thermal sweep like Ghost Hunters

    ReplyDelete
  79. Is GA adapting? It's like seeing apes using tools--it's a miracle.

    ReplyDelete
  80. They are taking some Ghost Hunter ideas and GHI is copying GA

    ReplyDelete
  81. It's fun watching the boys use new equipment and explain to us how they work.... gotta love them.

    ReplyDelete
  82. God, I live for Zak's serious explanations of what shit is. It's cracks me up. He's so cautious after that incubus incident and his love of orbs.

    ReplyDelete
  83. todays show is brought to you by the word angry

    ReplyDelete
  84. Aaron... mouth open... eyes bugged out... dude!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Dude! I love that you do this. And I love even more how popular it is. You gotta theme a whole blog around this....with Dale.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Hey sis, try and take video of your tour tomorrow.... it should be a hoot. While you are climbing mountains with Vin-man and the UFO dork, I will be cleaning my house getting ready for Gary's poker party.

    ReplyDelete
  87. CB;
    You're killing me. Yeah, well, us nerds have nothing better to do on a Friday night. You might enjoy my earlier post today. I suspect it's just your thing.

    Barry;
    You want to be my body pillow? I tend to drool because of allergies.

    Sis;
    Yes, I'm videotaping and going to do a post on it. I suspect it will be quite enlightening.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Barry, she does drool, I have seen it, lol.

    Sis, good... it should be interesting to hear what that doofus has to say, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Signs; that is what I am now watching...

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'm curious to hear his take on UFOs and alien visits from the past. I have always loved Chariots of the Gods and I'd like to take a look at these drawings myself. I have a spatial gift and I think I'll be able to tap into what they envisioned when they made them. I will come to my own conclusions. I've seen some weird shit in the skies here that left me one time terrified and another time amazed and another time baffled beyond belief.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Sis;
    Signs! Oh, I miss that! I gave that to my ex because it was his favorite movie and I felt guilty taking all the really good ones. You know, I'm in the mood right now for Rear Window or maybe Midnight Lace with Doris Day--yeah!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Should make for an interesting day none the less. I hope the weather is good for your trek.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Rear Window... I haven't seen that movie in a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  94. steampunk palin wouldn't drool

    ReplyDelete
  95. Barry, are you sure? I bet she would.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Sarah would drool and fart in bed and probably wear curlers in her hair and cream on her face and a house coat. She would never sleep naked. That's too liberal!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Oh, Barry. I am not jealous of Sarah. If you desire her, it says more about you than her power to attract. She is stale white bread. I, however, am rich black pumpernickel with caraway seeds and melted butter fresh from the oven.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Want to hear something crazy? I'm still on my first tank of gas for my new car. I got it in mid December. It's gone 250 miles and still has a quarter tank left. I love Corollas!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I am looking forward to cruising in your new car. I bet it will be so comfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Barry;
    These evil laughs are killing me. Do confess!

    ReplyDelete
  101. yes it sounds like a sweet little car

    ReplyDelete
  102. It's adorable. The turquoise color suits me and it's so zippy and easy to maneuver. I would never ever want a sports car. If I were a billionaire, I'd still drive a Corolla, but I'd probably get a really sweet custom sun protector for the front windshield like a giant $100 bill.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Right now I am just working to get mine paid off. It would be nice to not have car payments for awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Yes, that is a huge chunk of change. You will be comfy traveling in my car. It needs a name, but I'm not sure what to call it. Every time I see it in the lot, I smile. It's so me.

    ReplyDelete
  105. name the car steampunk palin

    ReplyDelete
  106. I am going to hang my steampunk compass from the dashboard. What is a steampunk sounding name that has nothing to do with a gun-toting republican?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Hi guys! Just thought I'd drop by and wave.

    /wave

    ReplyDelete
  108. Vapor;
    Thanks for informing me of the wave, I might not have seen it. Hope you're having a good evening.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I am going to check out for tonight.

    Barry, have fun with steampunk Palin.

    Sis, have fun tomorrow with Vin-man.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Evening..Watching GA. Getting shot has never been sexier.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Hey Echo;
    You're watching it in the west too, huh? Yeah, it started here 15 minute ago.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I'm hitting the hay. I gotta get up to hike for 3 hours in the morning in the desert. Yeah, I'm an idiot. Hope to have some goods vids to put up on Sunday from the trip to the petroglyphs.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Interesting. It's like old school grafitti.
