I know that the "experts" have proclaimed these to be mangy coyotes and let the matter drop but the thing that I keep wondering about is why these creatures got dubbed chupacabras as well? Was it simply the naked skin and hunched appearance? That seems an awfully thin reason for attaching the name. The only one that is even close to this claim is the rendering from a witness in Puerto Rico where the animal looks similar to a small version of a Kangaroo with huge red eyes, long sharp claws, very short front legs with a long thick tail like a kangaroo and is able to climb trees with great ease. The police came to our house and when they climbed on our roof to look into the attic and saw those huge red eyes, they quickly left the property and left their ladder behind and were clearly in fear as this was NOT your ordinary critter.
