I really most interested in the excursion to the Bunkers.
I should explain first that I had been there years ago, I was about 14 years old. My cousins and myself went back there to do some shooting. I have thought about going back there but?
My cousins grew up in Point and I stayed there with them every summer. Later on through the years I was given a shot gun for my Birthday at the age of 14 by my Grandfather. My cousins suggested we should go out shooting. I was all for it. I should also explain both my cousins must have been about 5 to 6 years older and could drive.
Well they told my Grandfather we planned on going over to the TNT bunkers to shoot. I knew nothing about the Bunkers or their History. However they did. My Grandfather suggested we shoot somewhere else, however we went anyway.
So looking at one of your pictures and reading some of your thoughts that you said you felt. It brought back a few memories.
So, we three young guys get back there and start shooting. We must of went through boxes of ammo. When we stopped just to talk, when my oldest cousin kept looking over his shoulder, we asked him what he was doing and he kept saying he thought he heard something.
His brother, I remember laughed a little then quickly turned the opposite way and just went into like a pause mode. I was thinking what's going on here they are just trying to mess with me.
Now mind you we had all been standing together with about two feet apart from each other. I then looked at the top of the mound we had been shooting at and at the top of the mound the grass, which was about knee high started separating as if someone or something was walking through it. It just kept separating and coming toward us. I got the attention of both cousins and we looked at each other, like what the heck? We started loading and shooting rounds toward the grass which was still separating and coming toward us. We just kept shooting. It stopped about five feet in front of us. We loaded up and went over to see if it may have been a snake or animal. We found nothing! I remember my oldest cousins younger brother saying guys lets go... We all agreed. I felt as I was leaving like the hair on my neck standing up.
We never talked about it and left it as if nothing happened.
That was 34 years ago.
So last year I went to Texas to visit with my oldest cousin who lives there now. We started drinking with his wife and mine. When his wife asked. What happened with you and your cousin at the TNT mounds? I looked at him and looked at me and we talked about the whole incident. I asked him if his brother talked about it? He said he did.
That is a strange area, and I have tried to find about as much information I can. I still believe its guarded that's all I can say. I do know that one of my cousins had done a family tree background on one side of the family and had found that we are decedents of a few of the men who fought against Cornstalk. Anyway, I thought I would share...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-562032584293780619.post-77731083535605165242014-01-29T10:55:33.577-08:002014-01-29T10:55:33.577-08:00I've thought for a long time that creatures su...I've thought for a long time that creatures such as Mothman, Bigfoot, and the Jersey Devil are perhaps elemental spirits--spirits that are part of the land on which they live. From what I've read, they often function as protectors but can also wreak havoc if they're disturbed or offended. I believe they may feed off the energy of a place, and this can be beneficial or not.

Just my thoughts! Don't know if anyone agrees with me or not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-562032584293780619.post-26435669370934500522013-06-14T10:39:20.500-07:002013-06-14T10:39:20.500-07:00Awesome post. I have not felt that vulnerable on any of our other treks.Julie Fergusonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10460274888229792456noreply@blogger.com
