The Father of Halloween

His scarecrows totally freak me out--a new design each year. This one was the bog scarecrow. He does videos, he does photographs, designs massive haunts, makes beautiful Halloween crafts and I always use his cards made from amazing photos (like below).

Pumpkinrot is the the Father of Halloween. There just is no one like this artisan. He gets the season like no one ever has and literally every time I go to his website, I get teary-eyed and kind of resentful that I'm having Halloween in the fucking desert! He also has a fantastic blog that I adore and is on my blog list. I cannot get enough of my fix. It's like an addiction. I need to see his videos on YouTube and go to his site and see his projects just to believe that there is a real Halloween out there, the kind that you always imagined and didn't know could be real. He lives it every day. Lucky, lucky bastard! Some day, when I'm a famous horror writer, I want him to design my digs.

Here's his blog

  5. This is fantastic, creepy, and delicious all at the same time.

I'd love him to come up to Idaho and make one of these in a public place. People would FREAK. There'd be mormons and baptists sweating and panicking in the streets.

Maybe I should start a petition...
