I'm Me Again!

Above: My hair color in my seventh grade picture and my hair color today.

It was somehow symbolic I claim my childhood hair color again. I think because my ex liked brunettes and from my 20s onward I was constantly dyeing out the red tones to go for...blah. No offense to brunettes, but when your coloring isn't made for it, it looks weird, just like when red heads like Lindsay Lohan think they can go blond--ick! I think Nooshi at Beauty Brands in Ahwatukee did a great job of getting me back to me! Even though I had gone back to red after the divorce, I didn't quite get the color I had as a kid. She knew just how to tweak it to my skin tones and eye color and got just the color of my youth. I may not be in seventh grade again, but that gal feels like she's more herself than the faker she had been for years. Okay, I promise, no more beauty posts. I just knew y'all might wonder about my comment about doing something insane today. You might have figured I'd held up a bank or jumped from a plane or went toe to toe with a Bigfoot. Sorry, it was my day off so my search was more inward.

  4. Nice. I think it's called strawberry blond.

Yeah, probably a darker strawberry blond than Nicole Kidman's, maybe closer to Diane Lane in "Under the Tuscan Sun." It suits me. I was doing it a deeper auburn recently and I still felt not quite like myself. Now, I feel totally like me. Weird what something like that can do. It was perhaps just symbolic, but I feel more comfortable in my skin.

  7. I love that hair color. Had mine like that for awhile, but just couldn't keep the reddish color in. It always washed out right love. Love yours. Looks fabulous.

  8. Your right - it does suit you better! Oh, and if you dead shave your head, we could label you the "Natalie Portman of Ghost Hunting". Now wouldn't THAT be a great title? ;)

  9. Mary;
Thanks sweet. Yes, red hair is hard to keep alive in the desert. It tends to want to blond out.

Hmm... Sinead O'Connor of ghost hunting, perhaps. I'm sassy like her and Celt.

  10. Lovely color!
Always go with your natural, inborn colour , even when you'll start getting grey. Hair colour is part of our personality and character and I wouldn't want to change it for anyone.

My family has Scots blood. They went gray in their 20s. I was forced to begin to cover the grays early. I think I'm much too young to be totally silver. It feels good to do my hair color that matches my heart and soul and coloring. I'm sure when I'm in my 70s, I might feel I've earned long silver hair, but not yet. Too much red in me still!

  13. Hey sis! I can't wait to get away to cool spooky places and make funky videos and just be crazy. Warning: I'm bringing Dale!

  14. I wonder how Abby will react to Dale? It should be interesting especially if he gets into the champagne and mischief.

  15. hey, you mentioned you as bald chick and we would still be kind... i say no bald lady, that would be awful. now on to the new red head you, very nice. don't they say redheads have more fun or it's they are the most creative? maybe both, well you are on fire. and i use this word to describe all the time, but it works and sums it all up...

    SIZZLE!

  16. As long as you're happy with the color, I'm good.

I'll bet you could do bald, too.

(Maybe somebody can do THAT to one of your pics, so we'd have some idea how you'd look?)

  17. (sigh) Love the color change. But it doesn't really matter...you have been gorgeous pretty much your whole life from what I can tell in these blast from the past photos. Admiring from a distance. Don't throw stuff at me.
