"Face Off!" I'm Stoked!

A brand new series is premiering on Syfy on January 26! "Face Off" transforms reality by creating a competition/elimination series exploring the world of special effects make-up artists and seeing how perception can be distorted. Every week contestants will be challenged and pushed to create a whole new world with makeup, culminating in one winner for one grand prize that will launch a care Neill (Pirates of the Caribbean, Edward Scissorhands), Glenn Hetrick (Heroes, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files) and Patrick Tatopoulos (Underworld, Independence Day, Resident Evil: Extinction), and a wide array of dynamic contestants. Anyone who saw my zombie makeup series on here during our Zombie Walk event knows that I adore special effects makeup! I am totally stoked for this show!

  1. Right on! I've seen the previews too!

    (I can smell the spirit gum already!)

    Imagine how cool it could be when Halloween rolls around?

    They'll probably have some kind of big yearly final showdown or something.

    Sounds like good watching!

  2. Bubba;
    I'm totally with you on this one! I am one of those people that every October I make fake wounds and freak people out that I cut myself with a knife or was in an accident. I love to make them nauseous as you can see by the picture of me on this post.

  3. Interesting new show. Make-up is an important aspect for special effects.

    It can make or break a movie more than the acting, actually. I've seen some movies that were amazing until they slipped into the special effects and then they sucked. My favorite example of that was the full-frontal alien in "Signs." I loved that movie until that moment and I burst out laughing in the theater. Yikes!

    It says a lot for you if you're into zombie women, dude. Your preferences are appreciated.

    I will be hyping it up at the end of the month to remind everyone. This is the kind of show I like to see SyFy doing. I have a few more suggestions for them if they'd like to do something us viewers really want to see.
