This Week in Paranormal Shows

Wednesday:

Well, you have to make a choice. Two are on at the same time. You probably think I'd pick the new episode of "Ghost Hunters" at an Irish Pub in New York on SyFy, but I'm definitely not going to miss History Channel's "Monsterquest" episode about the Sierra Sasquatch. I don't ever miss anything about the BF.

Following that, however, I will not be parted under any circumstances from my favorite of all time, Josh Gates, who ushers in a new season on SyFy of "Destination Truth" going to the Dead Sea and looking for Leprauchauns. I'll be drinking my green beer, and if Josh is spot-on no doubt I'll be spewing the beer from my nose as he hits the locations with his usual commentary.

Thursday:

Travel Channel is showing a marathon of "Ghost Adventures" so it's time to get caught up on anything you missed.

We're having a good breather from the paranormal shows, but little birdies tell me that SyFy and Travel Channel are plotting and planning some new things to put in our schedule in the near future.

Comments

  1. I didn't even know there were any legends about Leprechuans around the Dead Sea. DT seems to be able to find some of the more obscure legends to investigate.

  2. I confess, I do get a kick out of Ghost Adventures. That Zach fellow doesn't seem to be the brightest, but something about their show intrigues me. Perhaps its their frat boy bungling, but I find them almost charming.

  3. Jeff; I probably didn't write that properly, but in the same episode they're going to both the Dead Sea and Ireland.

    Portia;
    I totally get it. During their season I advocate watching the show and I even have a fun drinking game for each episode for every time they say "dude," "man" and "bro" and every time Aaron's mouth comes unhinged in horror, you take a swig from your drink. I offer a new recipe each episode and a music video that suits the show. I just have fun with it. They're my guilty pleasure. Every time I watch it, I can't help thinking these guys probably got swirlies in high school.

  4. Thanks about the heads up on Monsterquest, I will put it in my DVR list and make sure that it records all new eppys. I am very excited about DT, as you very well know. I told Eileen that you will see a DT recap this week and not GH. I will recap GH when the show gives me something different to write about. With the new time changes, Direct TV has GH on at 6 pm and DT on right after at 7 pm. There will be no conflicts with my new favorite comedy "Modern Family". I am definately a happy girl.

  5. Jeez, I love when they switch to Daylight Savings Time. Yahoo!

  6. Regarding the Lizard Man of Flatwoods on MQ. Anyone ever think to connect the dots with Mothman from Point Pleasant. The two rural towns are only 35 miles or so apart and only about an hours drive from Pebbles (Ohio Area 51). Granted Mothman was 14 years after Lizardman but maybe it took the military awhile to test their new toy and get it right. Maybe the bridge colapse was a military exercise gone wrong. Just something to chew on.....

  7. Whatcanbrowndo4u;
    I have to admit, when I heard where the lizardman was, I couldn't help thinking about Point Pleasant too. Admittedly, two different looking creatures, but I carry a theory that mining areas are super attraction sites for weird UFO/Alien stuff. They go hand in hand so much it's insane. I don't know why that is, but I'm knocking around theories I hope to post on soon. I'm glad you noticed that too--seems a bit too coincidental for two such amazingly bizarre sightings in a great big earth to be that close together.

  8. Big foot bores the crap out of me but Josh Gates rocks! I love your drinking game for GA. I'm really gonna try it sometime. And tell those little birdies to tweet my way!

  9. OK, I'm laughing now. I think I'll have to try the drinking game next time I watch Ghost Adventures!

  10. Hey Portia;
    You might want to check out this post as an example--it'll get you in the mood for when the new season starts.
