Happy Cheesy Xmas!

My son and his girlfriend have a wicked sense of humor. This year, they decided to go to Goodwill, find a couple of cheesy sweaters (they were out of the ones with reindeer) and do a classic old-fashioned ala Sears portrait type of Christmas shot. I got this one of them, having them look up and away like the portrait studios do. My son put some effects on it to make it warm and fuzzy and voila! We have a happy cheesy Christmas. Yeah, he gets his weird sense of goofiness and nerd-dom from me. A gene I'm very proud to have passed on.

  1. Lovely young couple and a very nice picture to look at. The background in this classic 'photo' is warm ,colorful, and Christmas like.

  2. Duta;
    Thanks. We do up Christmas because, well, just about everyone does in America, but for us it's really about being a family and huddling close together to fortify our commitments and appreciation for one another and to remember our family's heritage. We've picked up customs from both our families, from my childhood Norwegian-themed Christmases to my Jewish relatives foods, to my own pagan-based beliefs. I think you wouldn't call it Christmas so much as Tree-and-gift-day in our house. It's the one time a year, we remember we're Norwegian, Laplander, Scottish, German, and English mutts. :-) p.s. and when we do Smorgasbord, I always given thanks that we came to America so I didn't have to grow up on Scandinavian food--ick!

  9. Libby. Yeah, I'd love to see a translucent 3/4 post of them affixed atop of it like those really bad childhood studio photos.
