Your Input

I think it came to me...what to do with the swimming pool during my post-apocalyptic graveyard themed Halloween party. It seems so obvious and I hadn't thought of it before. Tell me what you think of this idea:

Put a bright green lens on the pool light to make the water neon green. Place plastic containers with radioactive symbols all over the surface, bobbing up and down. I'd love your input and then I can start collecting containers.

  1. Brilliant! It will be interesting to see if any one jumps in or if just the thought of it being radio active waste would keep people out.

  2. If they jump in, they'll in for a surprise cause it'll be about 68 degrees then and most people wimp out at that temperature. Of course, for me, that's the ideal swimming temperature. Hee hee I should have gone as a radioactive mermaid!

  3. I'm going to test out dry ice in the pool but I heard that the water needs to be hot. If that's so, I might just consider floating containers with hot water and dry ice to give it a bit of fog to the neon green surface. Seriously radioactive spill looking. I have some hazardous waste signs to put on the walls around the pool near the giant spiders. Should be creepy!

  4. A very misty, merky, swampy pond would be creepy and cool.

  5. Going with the theme, I decided to get neon green paint and put it inside the containers and swish it up a bit so they're stained inside with the neon green "mystery radioative goo." Hee hee

  6. …….shwew, Autumn, this is sheer brillig, really. No, REALLY brillig. You just HAVE to go ahead & do this. one of the all-time scariest things ever released. Not a ghost. Not a monster. Not a sociopathic human bent on raising havoc. RADIOACTIVITY! I only wish that I could participate in this Hallowe'en with you ~ (•8-D}

  7. Thanks for the input. I've been fixing up lots of jugs with radioactive symbols and warning signs. I think the overall effect shall be very creepy and neon glowing. Now, to go find some plastic to make the pool lens brigh green. If dry ice works too, that'll take it to even a scarier level. The big mannequin "Modi" that stands guard at the entrance will be wearing a radioactive sticker. The drink holder is a huge plastic bin filled with ice and drinks and tons of green glow sticks inside to make the entire thing glow. Those little touches get the apocalyptic feel across, the graveyard is awesome. I just finished filling Modi's entrance with tons of white crosses in the ground. It's weird, but when I walk through, I feel like I do when I'm in a cemetery. Very eerie!
