I WON! YAHOO!

I'm totally surprised and excited that I won the "Ghost Adventures" Travel Channel Short Story Contest! My entry was the short story "Evil Walks the Halls" on my October 19th posting. I'll keep you posted when they put it on their site. Thanks for your support in my writing. I have to admit, I've been hesitant to share my writing with family and friends, but having my peers review it has really boosted my confidence. Can't wait until I tell you about the publishing of my first horror novel--soon, I hope!

  6. That's awesome! Congratulations...I know that must've felt good to read that news! It'll be a great way to get your name out there too...and good to put on a writing resume.

    Oh, and btw, I don't know if you read my response to your comment on my MIB/UFO Hunters post the other day, but I was hoping you'd post a story or some theories as to what you think the MIB might be (or what they're agenda is).

  10. Julie;
    You're always so supportive and sweet. I enjoyed it. I've been by that place a few times growing up and it really did feel like the house that evil dwelled in...I can't wait to see the special. I'm going to have it running on the bigscreen during the party so when folks get cold and come inside, they can enjoy the hunt.

  14. Thanks Dev and Hibiscus Moon;
    They said the prize is that they'll feature the winning story on GhostAdventuresLive.com and link back to my blog. They will also drive traffic to my blog from the Ghost Adventures Twitter and Facebook pages. Not bad. It'll be neat to get some more folks wanting to bat around some ghost hunting theories. Mostly, I just like getting recognition that I wrote something someone else likes, which is basically what ya'all do with the shorts I write for Halloween. Thanks!

    Thanks! You might want to read my short about the wind mountain pass goon. It takes place in WV, my favorite location for creepy stories (the isolation, mountains, and trees, make it ideal).

    Libby;
    You're so supportive. You know, I can't wait to put a copy of my novel in your hands. I get the feeling you might knock around some cool ideas for future novels. I like the way your mind works!

  19. This is how far behind I've gotten in reading blogs...please forgive my belated congratulations. Also, I want to point out I told you so! I KNEW you'd win! It was a given. You have SOOOOOO much talent!

    You are always my perky cheerleader! Thanks for your confidence. Honestly, I've kept my writing to myself for so long, I feared others might not enjoy the worlds I can go to when I "astrally project" my stories. Okay, so I don't really astrally project, but I can get so into them that they feel like I lived there for a time. I haven't taken my writing as anything more than a hobby before, but I vow that during 2010, I will get at least one contract for one of the three novels I'm working on.
